With the fishing season in full swing,a reporter from the Yangcheng Evening Newsvisited the world's first self-propelleddeep-sea aquaculture vessel "Wanqu Lingding", anchored in the waters of the Wanshan Archipelagoin Zhuhai City. With a total length of 155.8 meters, this deep-sea aquaculture vessel cost approximately 260 million yuan to build and officially commenced operations in 2026. It is capable of cultivating premium seafood, including golden pomfret, greater amberjack,miiuy croaker, and grouper.

The vessel is equipped with 12 independent aquaculture tanks, with a total water volume of 80,000 cubic meters.Besides, the hull of the vessel features a hollowed-out design, which allows the seawater inside the tanks to exchange with the ocean. The fish live in a pollution-free deep-sea environment that closely mimics the wild,feedingon natural plankton, which makes their flesh firmand sweet. Among them, miiuy croakers raised in the deep sea stand out for their superior quality, achieving about a 15% increase in swim bladderfullness over nearshore aquaculture. With rapid growth, greater amberjack has flesh free of small bones and is suitablefor various cooking methods, such as sashimiand pan frying. It is now widely supplied to the Guangzhou and Shenzhen markets.

Unlike traditional fish net pens, the "Wanqu Lingding" vessel boasts a more stable and strongerstructure, which enables it to maintain normal navigation even in a force12 typhoonand realize a "nomadic" style of marine aquaculture. Equipped with a complete set of smart equipmentsuch as intelligent monitoring, automatic feeders, and fish net cleaning systems, the vessel realizes digitalization in maintenance managementthrough a shore-based maritime monitoring system. This allows for real-time tracking of water quality indicators and precise control over the aquaculture environment. All seafood brought to market has undergone rigorous testing by independent third party organizations, ensuring its quality and safety.

Backed by quality marine resources of Lingdingyang Bay and smart technologies in aquaculture, the "Wanqu Lingding" vessel ensures a steady supply of premium deep-sea seafood, delivering the fresh, sweet fish to the tables of countless families in the Greater Bay Area.

深海育珍鲜！“湾区伶仃”号耕海伶仃洋产出高品质海味

正值收鱼季，羊城晚报记者探访坐落于珠海万山群岛海域的全球首艘自航式深远海养殖工船“湾区伶仃”号。这艘总长155.8米的海上养殖平台总投资约2.6亿元，2026年正式投产，可养殖金鲳鱼、章红鱼、鮸鱼、石斑鱼等高端海产。

工船设有12个独立养殖舱，总水体达8万立方米。船体四面透水，实现海水自然交换，鱼群在无污染深海环境近似野生生长，以天然浮游生物为食，肉质紧实鲜甜。其中深水养殖鮸鱼品质突出，鱼胶饱满度较近岸养殖提升约15%；生长快速的章红鱼肉质无细刺，适配刺身、香煎等多种吃法，目前已大量供应广深市场。

相较于传统网箱，“湾区伶仃”号结构稳定、抗风险能力强，具备12级台风自航能力，可实现“海上游牧”式养殖。工船搭载智能监测、自动投喂、网衣清洗等全套设备，实时监测水体指标、精准管控养殖环境，依托岸海联动系统实现数字化管护。所有上市海产品均经过第三方权威检测，品质安全可控。
