The 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) officially opened on October 15th, marking the 20th anniversary of volunteer services for the fair. Across the fair venue and throughout the city, teams of energetic young volunteers—dubbed "Little Bees"—have taken up their posts at various service points to offer professional and hospitable support to Chinese and overseas attendees.

Lina, a Russian volunteer fluent in Russian, English, and Mandarin, puts her multilingual capabilities to work by providing directions and answering inquiries, helping international buyers quickly locate booths and maximize their time at the fair.

Working on the frontline of information services in the exhibition hall, Macao youth Yi Shoucan gains firsthand experience of the upgrading of Chinese manufacturing and the Greater Bay Area's openness and economic vitality through his busy volunteer routine.

Now serving her fourth Canton Fair, volunteer Yan Qinyue conducts hand-painting activities featuring traditional blue-and-white porcelain at a volunteer station. Explaining traditional Chinese craftsmanship to foreign guests in fluent English, she helps transform the fair from a commercial hub into a vibrant platform for cultural exchange.
At Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, volunteer Wang Zhuoran is stationed at the port of entry. Leveraging his extensive international service experience, he provides customs orientation and procedural assistance for arriving overseas traders, ensuring a seamless transition to the fair. Meanwhile, volunteers across Guangzhou's transit hubs, shopping districts, and major scenic spots offer multilingual guidance and assistance.

Over the past two decades, Guangzhou has mobilized more than 100,000 young volunteers from over 30 universities for the event, accumulating over 620,000 total service hours. Successive generations of young people have passed the torch, bringing their enthusiasm to this flagship event for high-level opening-up while highlighting the vitality and civic responsibility of Guangzhou's youth in the new era.
