Recently, the 13th "Great Petrushka", International Puppet Festival was held in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Guangdong Puppet Art Theatre stole the show with its traditional repertoire, "The Elegance of Lingnan Puppetry". This month, Guangzhou Song and Dance Theatre launched a joint tour of "Awakening Lion" and "Odes to Heroes", bringing southern lion dance and Yingge dance, two state-level intangible cultural heritages, to the stages of Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

The signature productions of Lingnan Puppetry include "Three Strikes Against the White Bone Demon","Mulan", and a long-sleeve dance"Puppet Lover". Covering diverse themes such as myths and legends, patriotic stories, and classical Chinese dance, these shows display the artistry of rod puppetry and Iron Rod Puppetry, blending traditional heritage with contemporary stage design. With the core charm of Lingnan Puppetry, this series of productions not only preserved the traditional art form passed down through generations, but also integrated modern stage design, offering Russian audiences a comprehensive showcase of Lingnan Puppetry's profound cultural heritage and vitality.

Guangzhou Song and Dance Theatre kicked off the Southeast Asia Tour with "Awakening Lion" and "Odes to Heroes". On September 12th and 13th, "Awakening Lion" staged two consecutive performances at the Theatre at Mediacorp in Singapore, attracting local government officials, artist representatives, mainstream media, and Chinese compatriots here.

Through the two dance dramas, southern lion dance and Yingge dance, two national intangible cultural heritages, were brought to the stages of Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand."Awakening Lion" blended Southern Chinese martial arts and Cantonese folk customs to demonstrate the deep love for family and our country. With rapping in the Chaozhou dialect, "Odes to Heroes" looked back on the memories of the older generation of overseas Chinese who traveled to Southeast Asia and sent qiaopi (overseas Chinese remittance letters) back to China to express their homesickness. Overseas Chinese audiences are deeply moved when seeing their ancestors' pioneering adventure in the drama.

广东木偶戏再度亮相俄罗斯，广州一批文艺原创精品“出海”

近日，第十三届“彼得鲁什卡”国际木偶戏剧节在俄罗斯叶卡捷琳堡举办。广东省木偶艺术剧院携传统经典剧目《岭南偶戏风华》精彩亮相。本月，广州歌舞剧院推出《醒・狮》《英歌》联合巡演，把醒狮、英歌两项国家级非遗搬上新加坡、马来西亚、泰国的舞台。

这系列精品节目包括《孙悟空三打白骨精》《花木兰》等等及长绸舞《人偶情》，内容涵盖神话传奇、家国故事、东方写意舞蹈等多元题材，展现杖头木偶、铁枝木偶等表演技艺，兼具传统底蕴与当代舞台审美。整套节目浓缩广东木偶戏的核心魅力，既保留代代相传的经典范式，又融入现代化舞台表达，向俄罗斯观众立体呈现岭南木偶艺术的深厚积淀与鲜活生命力。

广州歌舞剧院则携舞剧《醒・狮》《英歌》南下，开启东南亚巡演。9月12日、13日，《醒·狮》率先在新加坡新传媒剧院连演两场，吸引了当地政府官员、文艺界代表、主流媒体及在新华人同胞到场观演。

本次巡演的舞剧《醒・狮》《英歌》，把醒狮、英歌两项国家级非遗搬上新加坡、马来西亚、泰国的舞台。《醒・狮》融汇南派武术与广府民俗，诠释家国情怀；《英歌》融入潮语说唱，回望先辈下南洋、侨批寄乡愁的华人记忆。海外华人观众可从剧目里看见先辈奋斗的过往，产生强烈情感共鸣。
