Recently, the "Greater Bay Area Trendy Plants, Green Splendor Adorns the Flower City" floral industry matchmaking event was held in Guangzhou. More than 100 varieties of trendy plants and premium Phalaenopsis orchids, including queen staghorn fern, Anthurium clarinervium, and Koi caladium, were showcased. Blending design aesthetics with industry networking, the event offered the public a floral feast to admire, purchase, and experience firsthand.

Local producers of trendy plants, such as JoJo Plants and Guangzhou Brighten Floriculture Co., Ltd., are keenly attuned to young consumers' preferences. By introducing rare varieties and applying plant tissue culture techniques, they have achieved standardized, large-scale production of what were once imported rarities. Distinctive varieties like variegated Monstera and staghorn ferns are now moving beyond niche collector circles into everyday homes, signaling an expanding base of both producers and consumers.

On social media, plant enthusiasts gather in groups to exchange care tips and race to grab plants during livestream flash sales, fostering a cultural community built around trendy plants. This buzz has rapidly driven an aesthetic upgrade across the industry, from designer handmade ceramic pots and smart care systems to micro-landscape sets and custom landscaping services. The industry is rapidly shifting from selling individual plants to offering integrated services that combine planters, creative merchandise, landscape design, and plant care services, constantly generating new growth in consumer spending.

Guangzhou has established a complete industrial chain that covers seedling R&D, tissue culture propagation, and large-scale production of finished plants, with the city's floral industry valued at over 37 billion yuan. Furthermore, Guangzhou has built China's largest trading hub for potted flowers. In the specific category of Phalaenopsis orchids, Guangdong Province accounts for over half of national output, while Guangzhou itself boasts the most comprehensive production cluster and supply chain in China. That means one out of every ten Phalaenopsis orchids sold in China is grown right here in Guangzhou.
