Under the slogan "Wing Chun Worldwide · Kungfu Foshan," on July 24th, the 2026 International Wing Chun Competition opened at the Qiaoshan Cultural Center in Nanhai District, Foshan. As one of the seven official competitions of the International Wushu Federation and the world's highest-level international Wing Chun event, the four-day tournament is being held in Foshan for the third consecutive year. This year's competition has attracted more than 4,000 participants, setting a new record for the event.

According to the organizers, competitors come from nearly 30 countries and regions, ranging in age from three and a half to 77 years old. Over the next four days, they will compete in forms (including representative empty-hand routines of different Wing Chun lineages, Wing Chun butterfly swords, Wing Chun single-ended long pole, paired routines and group routines), intelligent wooden dummy power assessment, chi sao (sticky hands), sparring, and the individual all-around competition.

In the story of "Kungfu Foshan," everyone who returns to the birthplace of Wing Chun has a different reason. For Mo Ruixing, a 70-year-old third-generation disciple of Ip Man, this is his first time competing in a public tournament. He said he was not aiming for medals. "Simply standing on this land is an affirmation of my 70 years of life. Being able to meet martial artists from around the world and experience the atmosphere of the birthplace of Wing Chun in person makes this journey home truly worthwhile."

Aliyeva from Uzbekistan is the only competitor from Central Asia. In 2025, she became a disciple of Leung Yuk-fai, a Wing Chun inheritor in the Ip Man lineage, and joined the first cohort of students at the Silk Road Kung Fu Education Institute, the first institution of its kind in Central Asia. This is her first visit to China, and she is looking forward to the tournament. She has entered four events in the women's youth division: Chum Kiu, Biu Jee, butterfly swords, and the long pole.

参赛人数创历届之最！2026国际咏春拳赛事在佛山开幕

“世界咏春，寻武佛山！”7月24日，2026国际咏春拳大赛在佛山市南海区樵山文化中心拉开帷幕。作为国际武术联合会七大官方赛事之一、全球最高级别的国际咏春拳赛事，这场为期四天的武林盛宴，已是第三年落户佛山。本届大赛吸引超4000人报名参赛，创历届之最。

据了解，本届大赛的参赛选手来自近30个国家和地区，其中年龄最小的3岁半，最年长的77岁。在接下来的四天，他们将套路（含各支系代表徒手套路、咏春双刀、咏春单头长棍、对练、集体）、智能功夫桩功力测评、黐手、实战对抗及个人全能等项目中逐一亮相。

在“寻武佛山”的叙事里，每一个循脉而归的人，都有自己的答案。本次赛事是叶问的第三代弟子——七十岁的莫锐兴第一次站上公开赛场。这次赴佛山参赛，他不求名次。他说：“能站在这片土地上，就是对自己七十岁人生的肯定；能亲眼看看各地的武者，亲身感受咏春发源地的气场，这趟‘回家’的路，我就没白来。”

来自乌兹别克斯坦的Aliyeva，则是中亚国家唯一参赛选手。2025年，她拜入叶问咏者拳传承人梁旭辉师父门下，成为中亚首家丝绸之路功夫教育学院的第一批学生。这是她第一次来中国，非常期待此次赛事，报名了女子青年组寻桥、标指双刀和长棍四项等项目。
