On July 23rd, the 2026 Global Writers in Guangdong Program's eco‑themed writing trip to Zhuhai came to a successful close. During the three‑day excursion, a group of overseas writers from multiple APEC member economies ventured deep into Zhuhai's streets and explored its iconic landmarks.

The Zhuhai Grand Theater, situated on Yeli Island, stands as a cultural icon of the city and the only theater in China built on an island. The two shell-shaped buildings, one large and one small, are gracefully staggered along the shoreline, blending natural elegance with artistic charm. Mexican writer Manuel Becerra was so captivated by the design that he likened it to the famous art museums of Mexico City, calling it a "breathtaking artistic masterpiece."

Becerra was awestruck when he saw the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, a world-class engineering wonder, up close. Stretching across the sea to connect the three regions, the bridge overwhelmed him with its sheer majesty and power. He said it is not just an amazing engineering project, but also a poetic and romantic symbol of our times. For him, it vividly embodies the development philosophy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA): openness, inclusiveness, and synergistic coexistence.

Gazing out at the thriving new cityscape of Hengqin, where skyscrapers rise in clusters, Peruvian writer Gian Pierre Codarlupo expressed great optimism about the future of the GBA. He observed that Zhuhai possesses the bustling energy of a modern metropolis, strong scientific and technological innovation capacity, and rapid development momentum, while also carefully preserving its original rural landscapes and ecological features. "Beyond technology and skyscrapers," he said, "we must also pay attention to the people living in rural areas. They are also part of what sustains the city."

全球作家珠海行，用文学定格大湾区高质量发展实景

7月23日，2026“全球作家写广东”计划生态采风珠海之行收官。在为期三日的采风活动中，来自多个APEC成员经济体的海外作家团深入珠海街巷热土、寻访城市地标。

坐落于野狸岛的珠海大剧院，是珠海标志性文化名片，也是国内唯一建在海岛上的剧院。大小贝壳建筑临海而立、错落有致，兼具自然雅致与艺术格调，让墨西哥作家曼努埃尔·贝塞拉赞叹不已。他将珠海大剧院与墨西哥城知名美术馆相提并论，称其为“令人惊叹的艺术杰作”。

近距离直面港珠澳大桥这座世界级超级工程，曼努埃尔·贝塞拉内心满是震撼。跨海横亘的港珠澳大桥贯通三地，磅礴气势扑面而来。他直言，港珠澳大桥不仅是伟大的基建工程，更是饱含诗意与浪漫的时代符号，生动诠释了大湾区开放包容、协同共生的发展理念。

秘鲁作家吉安·皮埃尔·科达鲁波望着横琴高楼林立、欣欣向荣的城市新貌，对大湾区的发展前景充满期待。他认为，珠海有着现代化都市的繁华活力、强劲的科创实力与迅猛的发展势头，并很好保留了原生态的乡村风貌与自然肌理。他说：“除了技术和摩天大楼，我们也同样要关注生活在乡村的人，他们也是支撑城市运转的一部分。”
