The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) has, for the first time, introduced a consumer drone zone, bringing together more than 20 exhibitors and turning the low-altitude economy into one of the event's biggest talking points. One Guangzhou-based company alone secured tentative orders for more than 100 aircraft on the opening day, with cumulative orders exceeding 180 units and totaling more than 10 million dollars in the first two days.

One Indonesian buyer showed strong interest in an amphibious aircraft model. "Traveling from one small island to another by boat is too slow, and chartering a helicopter is too expensive. This is just right," he said. Guangdong Yesheen Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. made the global debut of its products, including the "WingShip Pro", while application scenarios envisioned by buyers from around the world far exceeded expectations. Ranging from farm monitoring and mineral exploration to island-to-island shuttle services, these real-world scenarios have provided the company with valuable inspiration for future research and development.
The low-altitude economy is a prime example of Guangdong's deep integration of advanced manufacturing and the modern services sector. As one company executive said, "For our aircraft, every component can be sourced within an hour in the Pearl River Delta region." With supply chains concentrated in Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Shenzhen and Dongguan, comparable products sell for around 1 million yuan overseas, while those made in Guangdong cost just over 400,000 yuan.

Policy support is also being rolled out in a targeted way. Guangdong has introduced 16 measures covering key areas such as technological breakthroughs, application scenarios and low-altitude consumption. Guangzhou has gone a step further by taking the lead in local legislation and issuing technical guidelines for the construction of takeoff and landing spots. Companies have also partnered with PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited, making insurance for aircraft-related risks available and addressing one of consumers' major concerns.
When takeoff and landing spots begin to blend into cities like metro stations, and aircraft can be recharged and quickly redeployed like new energy vehicles, Guangdong's model for low-altitude mobility may arrive sooner than expected. As the Indonesian buyer said at the Canton Fair, "This is not just an exhibit. It is the future."
