As one of China's most open and economically dynamic regions, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) hosts three world-class hub airports in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, along with two trunk airports in Zhuhai and Macao, and two feeder airports in Huizhou and Foshan. Together, the seven airports form anair network that connects the globe. In 2024, the total passenger throughput of the GBA airport cluster surpassed 200 million.

Today, the GBA's transport network enables "four hours to Southeast Asia and twelve hours to the world". From industrial chain interactions with Southeast Asia, to business exchanges with the Middle East and Europe, and to innovation partnerships with North America, the extension of air routes reflects the expansion of the economic footprint.

According to the "Blue Book on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: Report on the Construction of the GBA (2025)", the GBA achieved an economic output of 14.79 trillion yuan in 2024, surpassing the world-class New York Bay Area and San Francisco Bay Area, and ranking alongside the Tokyo Bay Area as a global leader in terms of economic scale.

Notably, there remains huge potential for future aviation capacity growth in the GBA. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecasts that by 2030, passenger and cargo demand in the region could reach 387 million passengers and 20 million tons, respectively. A multi-layered network, Hong Kong as an international transfer hub, Guangzhou as an Asia-Pacific gateway, and Shenzhen as a direct link to emerging markets, will cover major global economies and emerging markets, underscoring the region's strong global connectivity.

12小时通全球！世界级机场群拓展大湾区梦想版图

作为中国开放度最高、经济活力最强的区域之一，大湾区集聚了广州、深圳、香港三大世界级枢纽机场，珠海、澳门两座干线机场以及惠州、佛山两座支线机场。七座机场共同织就覆盖全球的“天空网络”。2024年，大湾区机场群旅客吞吐量突破2亿人次。

如今，大湾区交通已实现“4小时覆盖东南亚、12小时通达全球”。从与东南亚的产业链互动，到和中东、欧洲的商务往来，再到同北美的创新合作，航线的延伸就是经济版图的扩展。

根据《粤港澳大湾区蓝皮书：粤港澳大湾区建设报告（2025）》数据，2024年，粤港澳大湾区以14.79万亿元的经济总量，超越纽约和旧金山两个世界级湾区，与东京湾区并列全球经济规模第一梯队。

值得一提的是，未来大湾区航空运力仍有巨大增长空间。国际航空运输协会预测，到2030年，大湾区航空客货运需求量将达3.87亿人次、2000万吨。“香港国际中转+广州亚太枢纽+深圳新兴市场直航”的多层网络，覆盖全球主要经济体及新兴市场，展现出强大的全球连接能力。
