Moreover, in her responses, Takaichi insisted that her remarks were consistent with the Japanese government's views and that she had no intention of retracting or canceling them.

The People's Daily published an article stating that this is a blatant interference in China's internal affairs, a breach of faith regarding the One-China principle, and an open challenge to the post-World War II international order. Insightful individuals in both China and Japan have pointed out that Takaichi's statement marks the first time since Japan's defeat in 1945 that a Japanese leader has publicly advocated in an official setting the so-called "Taiwan contingency is a contingency for Japan" and linked it to the exercise of collective self-defense. It is also the first time a Japanese leader has expressed ambitions to intervene militarily in the Taiwan issue and the first time Japan has issued a military threat against China. The Chinese government and people are strongly indignant and resolutely opposed to this.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly warned Sanae Takaichi to immediately correct her stance and retract her malicious remarks. Spokesperson Lin Jian stated: Taiwan is China's Taiwan. How to resolve the Taiwan issue and achieve national reunification is a matter for the Chinese people themselves and brooks no interference from any external force. For Japanese politicians to attempt intervention in Taiwan affairs is not only a gross violation of international justice and a blatant provocation against the post-war international order but also a serious disruption to China-Japan relations. If Japan dares to intervene militarily in the Taiwan Strait situation, it would constitute an act of aggression, and China will certainly retaliate with a resolute counterstrike!

人民日报发文称，这是对中国内政的粗暴干涉，是对一个中国原则的背信弃义，是对二战后国际秩序的公然挑衅。中国和日本的有识之士都一针见血地指出，高市此论是1945年日本战败以来，日本领导人首次在正式场合鼓吹所谓“台湾有事就是日本有事”并与行使集体自卫权相关联，首次在台湾问题上表达试图武装介入的野心，首次对中国发出武力威胁，用心极其险恶、性质极其恶劣、后果极其严重。中国政府和中国人民对此强烈愤慨、坚决反对。

外交部发言人也多次警告高市早苗必须立即纠正，收回恶劣言论。发言人林剑表示：台湾是中国的台湾，以何种方式解决台湾问题、实现国家统一，是中国人自己的事，不容任何外部势力干涉。日本当政者妄图介入台海事务，既是对国际正义的粗暴践踏、对战后国际秩序的公然挑衅，也是对中日关系的严重破坏。如日方胆敢武力介入台海局势，将构成侵略行为，中方必将迎头痛击！

“玉渊潭天”12日发布名为《搞事的高市》一文，登上热搜，因其直接喊话高市早苗：对于高市早苗这样一个爱搞事的政客而言，除了算计之外，得多些“算大账”的考量。再如此毫无底线地“满嘴喷粪”，高市恐怕要付出代价了！
