As the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (collectively referred to as the Games) draw near, the atmosphere of the Games is intensifying across Guangzhou. Through "micro-renovations," the city is undergoing a fresh transformation. All 30 venues are being upgraded from existing facilities, and 17 refined urban blocks are being created. For instance, Guangdong Provincial People's Stadium has been integrated into the red memorial axis, while new public spaces and fitness tracks have been added to the Guangdong Olympic Sports Centre Stadium and Tianhe Sports Center, ensuring "post-Games benefits for the public."

Leveraging the Games as an opportunity, Guangzhou has advanced 291 projects to enhance urban quality, with 241 already completed. These projects encompass roads, landscaping, and more. The newly built the South Square of Canton Tower, upgraded nightscapes along both banks of the Pearl River, and improved transportation infrastructure have all made travel more convenient. The city has also launched an innovative "Guangzhou City Partner" initiative, with the first batch comprising 15 companies, including Fortune Global 500 enterprises, industry leaders, and small and micro businesses. Riding the momentum of the Games, the city has rolled out the "15th National Games · 15 Cities" campaign to the outside world, generating over 300 million views. Domestically, it launched the 2025 "Top Eight Sights of Guangzhou" selection campaign, which received 13.788 million public votes, further enhancing Guangzhou's cultural and tourism brand.

Citizens are experiencing the changes firsthand. Avid runner Liu Shibo praised the refurbished tracks along the Pearl River, Ersha Island, and Tianhe Sports Center, calling them a boon for runners that inspire more people to get active. Local resident Chen Jianming has been documenting the city's cleanliness and ecological improvements with his camera, expressing hopes to participate in the Games as a photographer or volunteer. Public policy researcher Yu Liang noted how the Games are driving urban governance, emphasizing that Guangzhou's continuous optimization of its household registration policy reflects a shift from merely "attracting talent" to also "retaining talent." He looks forward to the Games showcasing a new image of the city: open and inclusive.

With 100 days to go until the 15th National Games, the idea that "to host the Games is to elevate the city" is becoming more tangible, as residents increasingly experience improvements in their daily lives.

办赛事就是办城市，全运盛会“挺举”花城软实力

随着十五运会和残特奥会临近，广州全运氛围渐浓，通过“微改造”焕新城市面貌。30个场馆均利用现有场馆改造，打造17个精致街区，如广东省人民体育场贯通红色纪念轴线，奥体中心、天河体育中心增设公共空间和健身跑道，实现“赛后惠民”。

广州以赛事为契机推进291个城市品质提升项目，已完成241个，涵盖道路、园林等，建成广州塔南广场，提升珠江两岸夜景，推进交通建设便利出行。同时创新推出“城市合伙人”计划，首批15家企业涵盖世界500强、行业领军者及小微企业。借全运东风，对外开展“十五运·十五城”主题活动，相关宣传阅读量破3亿次；对内启动“羊城八景”评选，获1378.8万张市民投票，擦亮文旅品牌。

市民切实感受变化：跑步达人刘世波点赞珠江两岸、二沙岛及天河体育中心跑道翻新，称其为跑者福利，带动更多人参与运动；老街坊陈健明用相机记录城市整洁、生态改善等变化，期待参与赛事拍摄或志愿服务；公共政策研究员余梁关注赛事对城市治理的推动，认为广州户籍政策持续优化体现“引人”更“留人”的理念，期待全运会展现城市开放包容新形象。

十五运会倒计时100天临近，“办赛事就是办城市”，人们将更切身感受生活变化。
