On June 18th, Meizhu, a giant panda cub at Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park, marked her first birthday. The park organized a heartwarming celebration for its beloved little star.

As part of the event, the care team conducted a thorough physical examination for Mei Zhu. She now weighs 27.1 kg, and her health metrics and growth curves indicate that she's thriving.

During the Zhuazhou ceremony, a Chinese tradition to honor a baby's first birthday, a colorful display of items, including keychains and stamps, was placed before Mei Zhu. After giving everything a gentle sniff and nudge, she finally went for the carrot‑shaped key, which symbolizes family inheritance.

So far, Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park has established the largest ex-situ conservation population of giant pandas in South China with 16 rare pandas, which includes "Mengmeng" (Cute), "Shuaishuai" (Handsome), and "Kuku" (Cool) respectively, the only surviving giant panda triplets in the world.

广州大熊猫“妹珠”一周岁生日快乐

6月18日，生活在广州长隆野生动物世界的大熊猫“妹珠”迎来了它的一周岁生日。园区为这位备受喜爱的“小寿星”举办了一场温馨热闹的生日盛典。

生日会现场，保育团队为“妹珠”进行了专业的周岁体检。“妹珠”体重已达27.1公斤，各项指标数据和成长曲线均显示其茁壮成长。

抓周仪式上，当精心设计的抓周道具陈列在“妹珠”面前时，它立刻被色彩缤纷的“钥匙串”“印章”等物品所吸引。一番小心试探后，它最终选择了象征家族传承之意的“胡萝卜钥匙”。

目前，广州长隆野生动物世界已成功构建华南地区最大规模的大熊猫迁地保育种群，拥有16只珍稀大熊猫，其中包括全球唯一存活的大熊猫三胞胎“萌帅酷”。
