As the largest horticultural event in Guangzhou, the 32nd Guangzhou Garden Expo will officially open on January 25th. This year, the Expo features the main venue at Yunxi Botanical Garden, along with more than ten sub-venues, including Guangzhou Children's Park, Yuntai Garden, Yuexiu Park, and the Canton Orchid Garden. Over 200 floral and garden design exhibits will be showcased. The Expo is set to be the most international, with the largest number of activities and the widest coverage in its history.
The 2025 Guangzhou International Flower Art Exhibition will open together with the Expo. It will feature 50 works of floral art masters from China, Belgium, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and other countries, showcasing the diverse charm of floral art from all angles.
Dutch interdisciplinary floral artist Pieter Teisman, with 35 years of experience in floral design, boldly uses color in his exhibit "Embrace of Color" to convey the power and resilience of life, symbolizing the strong connection between two nations. The work "Spring Bamboo Shoots" by Su Lisi, President of the Guangdong Flower Association, depicts the vigorous and unceasing vitality of life as the shoots emerge from the soil. South Korean floral master Oh Myeon presents "Bamboo Reflecting the Light Path," using the rhythm of bamboo's density and the interplay of light and shadow to express the beauty of harmonious coexistence of all things.
According to the organizers, this year's Expo emphasizes the concept of "people's gardening." A series of works focusing on home gardening will be exhibited at the main venue and multiple sub-venues. At locations such as the Children's Park, Zhujiang Park, Canton Orchid Garden, and Liuhua Lake Park, Some representative works from the "Yangcheng Craftsman Cup" greening skills competition will be showcased. Notably, the Flower City Art Museum at the main venue, Yunxi Botanical Garden, will open to the public for the first time. Located in the valley of the botanical garden, the museum will display newly cultivated flowers and plants collected from across the province, merging horticultural art with home containers during the Spring Festival period.
