Among them, Deng Hongliang's "Swimming Lesson," from the 2023 "Maritime Guangdong" program, which garnered the Emerging Short Film Award, tells a poignant story of a father-son relationship navigating conflict and reconciliation, encapsulating a fable about "leaving" and "staying." The judges praised Deng for his heartfelt storytelling and exquisite visualpresentation that conveyed a young boy's longing for the unknown world and his deep attachment to family.
