On October 25th, the 23rd Shantou (Chenghai) International Toys and Gifts Fair (CITF) kicked off in Shantou, Guangdong Province. "Chinese toys are highly competitive, and globally, more than half of childrenhave playedwith toys from Chenghai," remarked Romanian buyer Liviu Rosca, a15-year veteran in foreign trade, as he explored the latest exhibits at the fair. He shared with reporters his observation that local Chinese toy brands have made significant strides in design, branding, and innovation capabilities.

This year's event welcomed nearly 3,000 international buyers, double last year's attendance-while the number of participating countries and regions increased from 28 to 44. The organizers also extended invitations to 20 industry associations from Malaysia, India, Thailand, and other countries to bring purchasing delegations. Notably, an international exhibit area made its debut this year, featuring 23 participating companies.

The exhibition floor was abuzz with international visitors, many of whom stopped to examine the various products closely. This year's showcase featured an array of toys infused with Chinese traditional and Chaoshan cultural elements, which drew considerable interest from foreign buyers.

"I've noticed many products that incorporate Chinese and Chaoshan cultural elements, like robots dressed in traditional Chinese attire. These products are very distinctive," Rosca noted, adding that such cultural features appeal to international customers and could bolster overseas sales.

"My first introduction to Chinese characters was through 'Made in China' because many of my childhood toys were made in China, and seeing those characters on the packaging sparked my interest in Chinese toys and products," Rosca recalled. He mentioned that he was impressed by the high-tech robots and advanced remote-controlled toys at the fair, finding them to be high-quality and cost-effective.

"I've attended many major trade fairs, and friends have recommended that I visit Chenghai for toys. This year, Ifinally made it to the fair! The range of toys here is indeed comprehensive, and I've connected with many suppliers and original manufacturers. Next, Iplan to visit several prospective factories to explore further collaboration opportunities," Rosca told the reporter.

10月25日,第23届汕头(澄海)国际玩具礼品博览会(简称“玩博会”)在汕头拉开帷幕。“中国玩具的竞争力非常好,放眼全世界,超过大半的小孩玩过来自澄海的玩具。”在23届玩博会现场,罗马尼亚采购商Liviu Rosca正忙着了解最新款的展品,作为从事外贸15年的资深采购商,他告诉记者,这些年,他真切感受到中国本地玩具的设计和品牌越做越好,开发能力越来越强。

据悉,应邀参会的国际采购商近3000人,比去年翻了一倍,参会国家及境外地区从去年的28个增至44个;组委会还邀请了马来西亚、印度、泰国等20个境外行业商协会组团采购。值得关注的是,本届玩博会首设国际展区,吸引23家企业前来参展。

记者看到,展会现场不乏许多外国面孔,许多采购商正在展品前驻足端详。相比往届而言,本届展会带有中国传统文化、潮汕文化元素的玩具产品增多,也很受外国采购商青睐。

“我留意到很多产品带有中国传统文化、潮汕文化特色,比如穿着中国传统服饰的机器人等,这个非常有特色。” Liviu Rosca表示,带有中国传统文化的产品是一个卖点,对外国顾客有吸引力,可以助推产品的海外销售。

“我最早认识的汉字就是‘中国制造’,因为我小时候的玩具中就有来自中国生产的,我正是从包装盒上首次认识中国字,也引起了我对中国玩具、中国制造产品的兴趣。” Liviu Rosca表示,玩具行业的发展非常快,今日展会上一些高科技的机器人、新型的高端遥控玩具等,他现场试用过觉得质量很好、性价比也高。

“我去过很多大型展会,有朋友推荐我说看玩具一定要来澄海,今年玩博会我终于来了!今天展会现场,我确实看到一系列非常齐全的玩具产品,还对接了很多供应商和源头工厂,接下来,我还将到一些意向的源头工厂去拜访,推进下一步的交流合作。”Liviu Rosca告诉记者。
