DATA TALK|GDP exceeds 6.5 trillion yuan: Guangdong's economic data for H1 2024 released

In the first half of 2024, Guangdong achieved a regional GDP of 6.5242 trillion yuan, reflecting a 3.9% year-on-year growth at constant prices. Specifically, the added value of the primary industry was 235.7 billion yuan, marking a 3.1% increase. The secondary industry saw an increase to 2,610.6 billion yuan, a growth of 5.7%. Meanwhile, the value added in the tertiary industry amounted to 3,677.9 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 2.7%.

Production: Industry supports stable economic development

In agriculture, during the first half of the year, the spring harvest yielded nearly the highest level in five years. In 2024, Guangdong's spring grain output reached 716,600 tons, an increase of 1.4%.

In terms of industry, in the first half of the year, the added value of industries above designated size in Guangdong reached 1.96 trillion yuan, marking a 6.0% year-on-year increase. Emerging industries have developed rapidly, with the value added in advanced manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing industries growing by 8.1% and 13.0%, respectively. Notably, the high-end electronic information manufacturing industry saw a growth of 16.3%, while the aviation, spacecraft and equipment manufacturing industry grew by 20.9%. Production of high-tech products also increased significantly, with output for new energy vehicles, smartphones, integrated circuits, and industrial robots growing by 25.7%, 23.4%, 31.1%, and 37.6%, respectively.

In the service sector, during the first half of the year, the added value of services in Guangdong increased by 2.7% year-on-year. Province-wide freight volume and freight turnover increased by 0.3% and 3.1% year-on-year respectively. Passenger volume and turnover saw significant growth, with increases of 14.8% and 24.7% respectively.

Investments: Equipment and tool investments achieve double-digit growth

Breaking down investment areas, industrial investment saw a year-on-year increase of 15.5%. Investment in emerging industries grew rapidly, with high-tech industry investment in Guangdong increasing by 19.6%. Investment in advanced manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing sectors also saw substantial growth, growing by 18.6% and 23.9% respectively.

Infrastructure investment increased by 0.1%. Specifically, investment in railway transportation grew by 11.2%, while investment in electricity, heat production, and supply increased by 10.4%. Notably, there was a continued deepening of green and low-carbon transformation, with investment in clean energy growing by 14.0%.

Consumption: Market sales show stable growth

In the first half of the year, Guangdong's total retail sales of consumer goods reached 2.35 trillion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 1.2%. By consumption type, retail sales of goods grew by 0.9%, while revenue from catering services increased by 3.2%.

Commodity prices: CPI rises modestly

In the first half of the year, Guangdong's Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.1% compared to the same period last year, marking an increase of 0.2 percentage point from the first quarter.

Income: Rural residents' income growth outpaces that of urban residents

In the first half of the year, the disposable income per capita for residents in Guangdong reached 27,127 yuan, marking a nominal year-on-year increase of 4.5%. Excluding price factors, the real growth was 4.4%. By residence type, urban residents had an average disposable income of 32,614 yuan, with a 4.0% increase, while rural residents' average disposable income was 13,831 yuan, showing a growth of 6.7%.

GDP超6.5万亿元!2024年上半年广东经济数据发布

2024上半年,广东实现地区生产总值65242.50亿元,按不变价格计算,同比增长3.9%。其中,第一产业增加值2357.49亿元,增长3.1%;第二产业增加值26106.10亿元,增长5.7%;第三产业增加值36778.91亿元,增长2.7%。

看生产:工业支撑经济平稳发展

农业方面,上半年,春收粮食丰收达近五年最高水平,2024年广东春收粮食产量71.66万吨,增长1.4%。

工业方面,上半年,全省规模以上工业增加值1.96万亿元,同比增长6.0%。新动能产业快速发展,先进制造业、高技术制造业增加值分别增长8.1%、13.0%,其中高端电子信息制造业增长16.3%,航空、航天器及设备制造业增长20.9%。高技术产品产量较快增长,新能源汽车、智能手机、集成电路、工业机器人产量分别增长25.7%、23.4%、31.1%、37.6%。

服务业方面,上半年,全省服务业增加值同比增长2.7%。全省货运量、货运周转量同比分别增长0.3%、3.1%。全省客运量、旅客周转量分别增长14.8%、24.7%,

看投资:设备工器具投资实现两位数增长

分投资领域看,工业投资同比增长15.5%。新动能投资快速增长,全省高技术产业投资增长19.6%,先进制造业和高技术制造业投资分别增长18.6%、23.9%。

基础设施投资增长0.1%,其中,铁路运输业投资增长11.2%,电力、热力生产和供应业投资增长10.4%,尤其是绿色低碳转型持续深入,清洁能源投资增长14.0%。

看消费:市场销售稳定增长

上半年,广东社会消费品零售总额2.35万亿元,同比增长1.2%。按消费类型分,商品零售、餐饮收入分别增长0.9%、3.2%。

看物价:CPI温和上涨

上半年,广东居民消费价格指数(CPI)同比上涨0.1%,涨幅比一季度回升0.2个百分点。

看收入:农村居民收入增速快于城镇居民

上半年,广东居民人均可支配收入27127元,同比名义增长4.5%;扣除价格因素,实际增长4.4%。按常住地分,城镇居民人均可支配收入32614元,增长4.0%;农村居民人均可支配收入13831元,增长6.7%。
