In order to promote the World Dragon and Lion Dance Day, Chinese traditional culture and festive atmosphere around the world, the 2024 Hong Kong Dragon and Lion Dance Festival recently held a parade performance, stage show, and themed carnival at the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui and Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The event gathered 128 lion dance troupes and 1,500 athletes for the parade together.
Among them, Guangzhou's Dongshan Peizheng Primary School and Yangzijing Dongfeng Kindergarten from Yuexiu District, as representatives of the two Guangzhou dragons, witnessed and created new world records together with representatives from various countries around the world. Through cross-cultural communication and interaction, they enhanced the world's understanding of traditional Chinese martial arts and Chinese culture.
It is understood that the first Wushu Alliance (Macao) Office of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been committed to promoting the cultural exchange and cooperation of Wushu in the Greater Bay Area and jointly developing Wushu sports.
Chen Shaoying, head of the Guangzhou Office of the Wushu Alliance (Macao) Office of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, introduced, " Excellent Chinese traditional culture is an important bond connecting the people of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Dragon and lion dance is also one of the important carriers for the inheritance and development of excellent Chinese traditional culture. I hope that by organizing two representative dragon and lion dance teams of Guangzhou, we can deepen the cultural exchange of dragon and lion dance with our compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao, better showcase the profound heritage of the original Guangdong culture and the charm of the new era. With kids and adults together, we can promote Chinese traditional culture to more people."
During the festival, Dongshan Peizheng Primary School also specifically visited its sister school, Peizheng Primary School in Hong Kong, for cultural exchanges. They learned from each other in teaching research, school management, curriculum development, teacher-student visits, martial arts performances, and other aspects, jointly playing an active role in the development of education in Guangdong and Hong Kong.
Lin Dana, Vice Principal of Dongshan Peizheng Primary School, said, "The Hong Kong Dragon and Lion Dance Festival has provided us with a platform for learning and communication. Through multidimensional visits and diversified exchanges, we have improved the professionality of teachers, broadened the horizons of our students, and jointly enhanced the educational literacy of the two schools with a deeper friendship.'

“广州龙”香港展风姿,彰显广府传统文化魅力
为推动世界各地响应“世界龙狮日”,让广大市民感受中国传统文化,将节日气氛向全球传播。近日,2024香港龙狮节在香港尖沙咀星光大道及香港文化中心举行巡游表演、舞台演出以及主题嘉年华,活动齐集128条龙以及1500名运动员一起巡游。
其中,广州市越秀区东山培正小学和越秀区洋紫荆陶街幼儿园作为代表的2条广州龙,与来自世界各国的代表共同见证和创造新的世界纪录,通过跨文化的交流与互动,增进世界对中华传统武术及中国文化的认知和理解。
据了解,全国首个粤港澳大湾区武术联盟(澳门区)办事处在越秀区成立后,一直致力于推动粤港澳大湾区的武术文化交流与合作,共同推动武术运动的繁荣发展。
粤港澳大湾区武术联盟(澳门区)广州办事处负责人陈少莹介绍:“中华优秀传统文化是联系粤港澳人民的重要纽带,龙狮运动是中华优秀传统文化传承与发展的重要载体之一,我希望通过组织代表广州的2条龙参加本次盛会,可以深度加强与港澳同胞的龙狮文化交流,更好展示越秀广府文化源地的深厚底蕴以及新时代文明实践活动的魅力,通过小手拉大手的方式,让更多人了解和喜爱中国传统文化。”
在香港龙狮节举办期间,越秀区东山培正小学还专门到姊妹学校——香港培正小学进行文化交流,在教学研究、学校管理、课程研发、师生互访、武术展演等方面学习互鉴,共同为粤港两地教育事业发展发挥积极作用。
越秀区东山培正小学副校长林丹娜介绍:“香港龙狮节活动,为我们搭建了一个学习交流的平台,通过多维度的互访及多元化的交流活动,提升了教师的专业水平,开阔了培正学子的视野,共同提升两个学校的教育素养,建立了更加深厚的情谊。”
