On November 6th, the second day of the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), the enthusiasm of exhibitors remained high. All exhibition halls were abuzz with signing ceremonies and negotiations, fueling the continuous rise of "trade and investment fervor".
On June 2nd, 2023, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) came into full effect for 15 signatory countries, including 10 ASEAN countries, as well as Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and New Zealand.
The signing of RCEP has injected strong momentum into regional and global economic growth. More importantly, the enforcement of RCEP also marks the first time that China, Japan, and South Korea have been included in a unified framework of trade and economic rules, forming a system of mutual market openness and tariff reduction between China and Japan, Japan and Korea.
This year's CIIE is also the first edition held after RCEP took effect for all member countries. On-site, reporters witnessed the presence of companies from RCEP member countries, such as Japan and South Korea, who made their way to the event, with top executives even traveling long distances to China.
In September of this year, Omron Corporation from Japan completed the expansion of its factory for healthcare business in Dalian. Jian Xu, President and CEO of Omron (China) Co., Ltd., said in an interview with Yangcheng Evening News that through CIIE, Omron has engaged in closer and more direct communication with Chinese partners, as well as gained more opportunities to serve local customers and expand its business in China.
During a recent interview, Jian Xu, an Omron executive, pointed out that China is currently Omron's biggest overseas market. Additionally, China has the highest number of Omron employees compared to other regions. As of March 2023, Omron has a total of 8,560 employees in China, and the annual sales in the region have reached 211.5 billion Japanese yen.
China is considered one of ASICS' major global markets, alongside North America, Europe, and Japan. The CEO of ASICS China, Kai Gao, has expressed that CIIE's world-class collaborative platform presents exhibiting brands with an opportunity to significantly increase their visibility among Chinese consumers.
As a loyal "supporter" of the Chinese market, Uniqlo has participated in CIIE for four consecutive years, launching over 10 new products for the first time. Under the platform effect of CIIE, Uniqlo's "CIIE Special Edition" products have been well-received by consumers, with sales doubling for multiple products after their participation.
At this CIIE, Amorepacific from South Korea showcased over 800 exhibits and more than 10 brand-new products, presenting the latest achievements in development to consumers.
Mike Hwang, CEO of Amorepacific China, spoke to reporters about the benefits of RCEP's implementation on trade between China and South Korea. He stated that "the Chinese government's continuous efforts to attract foreign investment and create a favorable business environment. The country shows diverse, inclusive, and open attitude towards its market, which made the world impressive."
RCEP成员国企业纷纷“表白”进博机遇
11月6日,第六届中国国际进口博览会进入开展第二天,热度居高不下。各个展区之中,签约、洽谈接踵而至,推动着“贸易热度”“投资热度”持续升温。
2023年6月2日,《区域全面经济伙伴关系协定》(RCEP)对东盟10国和澳大利亚、中国、日本、韩国、新西兰等15个签署国全面生效。
RCEP的签署为区域和全球经济增长注入强劲动力,更为重要的是,RCEP生效也使中日和日韩首次形成相互开放市场、降低关税的制度安排,并将中日韩三国纳入统一的经贸规则框架。
本届进博会也是RCEP对所有成员国全面生效后的第一届进博会,记者在现场看到,来自日本、韩国等RCEP成员国的企业们纷纷奔赴现场,高管们更是不远万里到中国摇旗呐喊。
今年9月,来自日本的欧姆龙集团完成了健康医疗业务在大连的工厂扩建。欧姆龙(中国)有限公司董事兼总经理徐坚在接受羊城晚报记者专访时表示,通过进博会这一平台,欧姆龙与中国合作伙伴进行了更亲密、更直接的沟通,也获得了更多服务本地客户和扩大在华业务的机会。
徐坚强调,目前,中国不仅是欧姆龙最大的海外市场,也是欧姆龙员工人数最多的海外地区。截至2023年3月,大中华区员工人数达8560人,年度销售额达2115亿日元。
中国是除欧洲、北美、日本之外的ASICS亚瑟士全球四大市场之一。在ASICS亚瑟士中国总裁高凯看来,借助进博会这一世界级的开放合作盛会,参展品牌的产品们往往能够被更多中国消费者所了解。
作为中国市场的忠实“拥护者”,优衣库连续四年参加进博会,共推出超10款“首发首展”商品。在进博会的平台效应下,优衣库“进博同款”深受消费者青睐。多款产品参与进博会后“销量翻番”。
本届进博会上,来自韩国的爱茉莉太平洋带来了800余件展品和10余款品牌首发首秀新品,向消费者展现最新的发展成果。
谈及RCEP落地对中韩两国之间的贸易的积极影响,爱茉莉太平洋中国总裁黄永慜向记者表示:“中国政府在吸引外资和营造营商环境方面的努力从来没有停止,中国市场拥抱多元化、包容开放的姿态让我们赞叹。”
