Executives from multinational corporations gather at CIIE

On November 5th, the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) commenced in Shanghai. This annual event, now in its sixth year, has attracted over 3,400 exhibitors and registered 410,000 professional visitors.

The data reveals that the current CIIE boasts the highest number of Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders to date, with 289 participants. On the opening day of the expo, numerous executives from these top companies said to reporters that despite the global turbulence, CIIE serves as a "reassurance" that presents multinational corporations with an opportunity to share in the vast potential of the Chinese market and further expand here.

This year's CIIE witnessed the global participation of all fifteen major automobile brands, the top ten industrial electrical companies, the top ten medical equipment enterprises, the three mining giants, the four major grain traders, and the five leading shipping companies. The fact that they are present highlights their acknowledgement of how crucial the Chinese market is.

During the exhibition, a wide array of cutting-edge medical devices will be showcased for the first time globally, including innovative drugs, low-carbon energy equipment, intelligent industrial machinery, new energy vehicles, high-tech beauty products, and high-quality food, with many making their debut in Asia or China.

Through the CIIE platform with high-level openness, pharmaceutical giant AbbVie has unveiled several innovative products that cover five key therapeutic areas: immunology, oncology, ophthalmology, neuroscience, and aesthetics. Lily Dong, Vice President and General Manager of AbbVie China, mentioned to reporters that AbbVie plans to introduce 30 new products and indications to the Chinese market by 2030.

As one of the founding members of the CIIE Exhibitor Alliance, Unilever has actively participated in the event for six consecutive years. Qu Wei, CEO of Unilever China, said to reporters that as China presents a significant opportunity for global development, CIIE gradually serves as a window to establish a new development paradigm to develop the Chinese market into a shared market for the world.

"I have attended the CIIE for five consecutive years and have been deeply moved by it. The CIIE has indeed established such a new development paradigm by catching China's new development to bring new opportunities to the world," said Fabrice Megarbane, President of L'Oréal North Asia Zone and CEO of L'Oréal China. He further emphasized that L'Oréal has been a beneficiary of China's opening-up policy, with its business in China doubling in size between 2019 and 2023.

Over the past six years, Mike Hwang, CEO of Amorepacific China, has witnessed firsthand China's expanding opening-up policy. The number of participants at the expo continues to grow, creating a wider circle of friends.

"We have seen the Chinese government's commitment to high-level openness by continuously providing new opportunities to the world with China's new development and promoting the construction of an open world economy," said Mike Hwang to reporters. This has bolstered the confidence of multinational corporations with years of experience in China and reinforced their long-term positive outlook for China's economic trends.

跨国企业“高管天团”齐聚进博会

11月5日,第六届中国国际进口博览会在上海开幕。这是中国连续第6年举办国际进口博览会,已有超过3400家参展商和41万名专业观众注册报名。

数据显示,本届进博会,参展世界500强和行业龙头企业数量达289家,为历届之最。在进博会开展首日的现场,不少世界500强高管向记者表示,在如今国际局势动荡的背景下,进博会仿佛一剂“定心剂”,给了跨国企业们在中国市场“更进一步”的机遇,让世界500强得以共享中国大市场。

今年进博会,全球十五大整车品牌、十大工业电气企业、十大医疗器械企业、三大矿业巨头、四大粮商、五大船运公司全数到齐,用实际行动展现着对中国市场的重视。

展览期间,多种先进医疗器械、创新药、能源低碳设备、智能工业装备、新能源汽车、高科技美妆产品、高品质食品等将进行全球首发、亚洲首秀、中国首展。

借助进博会这个高水平对外开放的“大舞台”,500强药企艾伯维在今年带来覆盖免疫学、肿瘤学、眼科学、神经科学和美学五大关键治疗领域的多款创新产品。艾伯维副总裁、艾伯维中国总经理董莉君向记者谈到,艾伯维计划到2030年前在中国上市30个新产品及适应证。

作为进博会展商联盟的创始成员之一,联合利华以“全勤生”身份六赴“进博之约”。联合利华中国区总裁瞿巍向记者表示,中国是世界发展的重要机遇,进博会更是构建新发展格局的窗口,推动中国大市场成为世界共享的大市场。

“我已经连续五年参加进博会,感触颇深。进博会正是构建了这样的新发展格局,用中国新发展,给世界带来了新机遇。”欧莱雅北亚总裁及中国首席执行官费博瑞向记者表示,欧莱雅是中国对外开放的受益者,在2019年至2023年期间,欧莱雅中国业务规模增加了一倍。

六年间,爱茉莉太平洋中国总裁黄永慜也在进博会上见证着中国开放的大门“越开越大”,进博会的“朋友圈”越来越广。

“我们看到中国政府坚持高水平对外开放,不断以中国新发展为世界提供新机遇,推动建设开放型世界经济。”黄永慜向记者强调,这让深耕中国多年的跨国企业对中国经济和市场发展潜力的信心倍增,更加坚定了未来中国的经济趋势长期向好预期。
