In October, autumn is also approaching in Payzawat County, Kashgar City, Xinjiang. Walking on the roads inside the Populus Euphratica forest ecological park and the forest tourism ecological park, the most beautiful scenery of the forest unfolds before your eyes.
The Populus Euphratica forest ecological park and the forest tourism ecological park are located in the northwest of Payzawat County, covering an area of approximately 1050 mu (about 70 hectares), with nearly 300 mu being Populus Euphratica forest.
According to Guo Kai, the person in charge of the park, with the support of Guangdong's financial aid to Xinjiang, the ecological park was completed in 2018 and officially put into operation in 2019. The park is divided into six areas, with the overall landscape layout centered around water systems, integrating various natural landscape resources such as water channels and saltcedars with the Populus Euphratica forest, creating landscapes like a kilometer-long wooden plank road and a 300-mu artificial lake.
Guo said that the best time to replant Populus Euphratica seedlings in order to enrich the forest in the ecological park is during the alternation of spring and summer, and autumn and winter each year. At that time, a large number of Populus Euphratica seedlings will be replanted in the park. In addition, during the observation of the natural reproduction process of Populus Euphratica, the staff will timely guide the seeds to open areas, so that they can reproduce and grow better. "Currently, the growth rate of Populus Euphratica in the ecological garden is 100-200 trees per year."
The establishment of the ecological park has attracted a large number of tourists to visit. "Winter and summer vacations, as well as holidays such as National Day are the peak seasons for visitors," said Atiguli. She smiled and said that on June 28th this year, which was the Corban Festival the ecological park received nearly 20,000 visitors in a single day.
As a key rural revitalization cultural and tourism project in Payzawat County, the Populus Euphratica forest ecological park and the forest tourism ecological park are becoming the "Western Pearl", introducing Chinese culture with tourism. The project meets the needs of tourists for visiting, sightseeing, leisure, and fitness, as well as the needs of local residents for production, living, communication, and recreation. It not only provides employment opportunities for poor households but also optimizes the overall tourism environment in Payzawat County, enhancing its economic and social development.
