The 19^th Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23^rd to October 8^th, 2023. As the third Asian Games held in China, besides many highlights in the competitive events, digital technology will make the Asian Games more diverse, adding the sports culture with new characteristics of this era.

This Asian Games has set up 40 major disciplines, 61 sub-disciplines, and 481 minor disciplines. The 40 major disciplines include 31 Olympic events and nine non-Olympic events with 481 gold medals.

It is worth mentioning that, while keeping the original 40 major disciplines, the 19^th Hangzhou Asian Games has added two new competition events, breaking and esports, in order to attract more attention and participation from young people.

The addition of breaking has enriched the cultural connotation and characteristics of this year's Asian Games. The breaking competition will be held at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium from October 6^th to 7^th, with one event for men and one for women, producing a total of two gold medals.

Breaking emphasizes body control and flexibility. Dancers showcase visual impact through unique movements and techniques. It is characterized by freedom, individuality, and innovation, which aligns well with the lifestyle of young people. This competition not only adds more cultural elements and vitality to the Asian Games but also contributes to the diversified development of sports culture.

As an emerging project, the 19^th Hangzhou Asian Games esports competition will be held from September 24^th to October 2^nd, producing a total of 7 gold medals, including League of Legends, Arena of Valor Asian Games Version, Peace Elite Asian Games Version, Dota 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, and EA SPORTS FC ONLINE. Except for Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, the Chinese team will participate in the competition of the remaining six games.

IOC President Bach previously stated, "Whether they could one day be considered for the Olympic programme the answer is yes. It depends on when this day is coming."

霹雳舞、电竞比赛将首次亮相杭州亚运会

第19届亚运会将于2023年9月23日至10月8日在中国杭州举行。作为在中国本土举办的第三届亚运会，除了竞技比赛将呈现诸多亮点外，数字赋能推动亚运办赛，体育文化多元发展等也呈现出新的时代特点。

本届亚运会设置40个竞赛大项，61个分项，481个小项。40个竞赛大项包括31个奥运项目和9个非奥运项目，将诞生481块金牌。

值得一提的是，在保持40个大项目不变的前提下，杭州亚运会增设了霹雳舞和电子竞技两个竞赛项目，以吸引更多年轻观众的关注和参与。

霹雳舞的加入丰富了本届亚运会的文化内涵和特色。霹雳舞比赛将于10月6日-7日在拱墅运河体育公园体育馆进行，比赛设立男、女各1个项目，共产生2枚金牌。

霹雳舞强调身体的控制和灵活性，舞者通过独特的动作和技巧展示视觉冲击力，其具有自由、个性和创新的特点，与年轻人的生活方式高度契合。霹雳舞的加入，不仅为亚运会注入了更多的文化元素和活力，也有助于推动体育文化的多元化发展。

作为一项新兴的项目，杭州亚运会电竞比赛将在9月24日至10月2日举行，共产生7枚金牌，分别为英雄联盟、王者荣耀（亚运版本）、和平精英（亚运版本）、刀塔2、梦三国2、街霸5和FIFA Online 4。除了街霸5，中国代表队将参加其余6款游戏项目的角逐。

国际奥委会主席巴赫此前曾表示：“电竞是否有一天会被考虑纳入奥运会？答案是肯定的。这取决于这一天什么时候到来。”
