The "Taiji Tea connects Guizhou & Guangdong" promotion event kicked off in Guangzhou on September 17^th, where girls dressed in traditional Hmong (an ethnic group living chiefly in China) served tea, tea recommenders introduced various flavors, and tea artists performed ancient tea art to entertain attendees.

The south enjoys vibrant plants, while Guizhou is rich in good tea. Taiji tea is produced in the core tea-producing area of Qixingguan District: Taiji Village in Bijie City, Guizhou Province. According to reports, Qixingguan District has a long history of tea production and is rich in tea tree resources. The Taiji tea was served as tribute tea to the emperor as early as the Qing Dynasty (1616-1912). However, for a longer period, this ancient tea in the Qixingguan area was hidden deep in the mountains, and little was known to the world.

In recent years, with the cooperation of Guangdong and Guizhou, experts have entered the Qixingguan District to carry out protective development of this natural ancient tea tree resource area. "Through on-site investigation, there are more than 300,000 ancient tea trees over 100 years old in Qixingguan District, and some of them are even over 800 years old, which is a precious wealth," said Huang Huanbao, deputy director and member of the Party Group of the Guangzhou Cooperation Office, and leader of the Guangzhou Group of the Guangdong-Guizhou Cooperation Work Team, said.

According to Huang, "With the joint efforts of the two places, Taiji tea has formed four major series of nearly 30 products, with an annual output of over 25,000 kilograms, which has driven the income of more than 20,000 farmers."

粤黔协作助力太极古茶香飘四方

身着苗族少女服饰泡茶侍茶、推荐官一一解码古茶风味、茶艺师们带来古茶茶艺表演……9月17日，“太极古茶·黔韵粤香”品牌推介会在广州举行。

南方有嘉木，黔地出好茶。七星关区太极古茶产自贵州省毕节市七星关区茶叶核心产区——太极村。据介绍，七星关区产茶历史悠久，茶树种质资源极为丰富，早在清朝时期所产制的“太极茶”曾为“贡茶”。然而，在较长一段时间里，七星关区的古茶树藏在深山，世人所知甚少。

近年来，随着粤黔协作助力，专家们走进七星关区，对这片自然古茶树资源区进行了保护性开发。“经实地考证，七星关区现有100年以上古茶树30余万株，部分古茶树树龄超过800年，是不可多得的宝贵财富。”广州市协作办党组成员、副主任、广东省粤黔协作工作队广州工作组组长黄焕葆说。

黄焕葆介绍：“在两地的共同努力下，太极古茶已形成四大系列近30款产品，年产量5万多斤，辐射带动2万多名农民增收致富。”
