On September 16th, China's second national skills competition kicked off in Tianjin. This comprehensive national vocational skills event boasts the highest specifications, the most extensive range of competition categories, the largest number of participants, the highest skill levels, and the widest-reaching influence in China.

This edition of the competition features a total of 109 competition categories, a 26.7% increase compared to the first National Skills Competition, which had 86 categories. A total of 4,045 contestants from 36 delegations across the country are participating, along with 404 contestants from 29 ethnic minorities.

Highlight 1: Addition of 20 new professions and 5 new categories

In recent years, with China's manufacturing sector undergoing transformation and expansion, the number of selected national competition categories for this edition has significantly increased. The competition has placed a strong emphasis on introducing 20 new professions and digital technology skills categories, such as omni-media operation and internet marketing. Additionally, five specialized technical competition categories have been added, including intelligent manufacturing engineering technology, integrated circuit engineering technology, industrial internet engineering technology, artificial intelligence engineering technology, and virtual reality engineering technology. These additions align with the trend of integrating technology and skills.

Highlight 2: Over 570 contestants with degrees of master or doctor

The competition has seen a notable increase in participants holding advanced degrees and those with established careers. Among the contestants, 2,189 are workers, 1,830 are students, and 26 are flexibly employed individuals. Workers make up 54.1% of the contestants, which is a 7.6-fold increase from the first edition of the competition. Among all contestants, there are 25 Ph.D. holders, 546 master's degree holders, and 1,131 bachelor's degree holders, with a significant portion of them specializing in new professions and digital technology skills.

Highlight 3: Competition + exhibition

During the competition, various delegations have organized over 190 skill exhibitions. There are also skill master meetings, skill showcases, live skill demonstrations, and eight additional mass skill experience contests, including mobile robotics. The event will feature 30 extraordinary traditional skills, spanning high-tech innovations, handmade craftsmanship, and artistic creativity. A panel of experts and audience votes will determine the "Top Ten Most Popular Extraordinary Skills."

Highlight 4: Participants from Guangdong engage in all competitions

In the first national skills competition, Guangdong earned 32 gold, 13 silver, and 11 bronze medals, as well as 27 outstanding performance awards, making up 37% of the total gold medals nationwide. The province excelled in gold medals, total medal counts, and overall team scores. In this year's competition, A total of 142 Guangdong contestants will participate in all 109 competition categories.

In May of this year, the province hosted the Third Vocational Skills Competition of Guangdong. There were 24 teams from 21 cities in the province, vocational colleges, technical schools, and Macao Special Administrative Region, comprising a total of 524 contestants. This event served as a platform to select standout contestants for the 47th WorldSkills Competition and the Second National Skills Competition.

第二届全国技能大赛开赛，新增20个新职业

9月16日，中华人民共和国第二届职业技能大赛在天津开幕。这是中国目前赛事规格最高、竞赛项目最多、参赛规模最大、技能水平最高、影响范围最广的综合性国家职业技能赛事。

本届大赛共设109个比赛项目，项目数量较第一届全国技能大赛的86个增加了26.7%，共有来自全国36个代表团的4045名选手参赛，还有来自29个民族的404个少数民族选手。

看点一：新增20个新职业和5个赛项

近年来，随着中国制造的转型升级，制造业规模扩容增量。与第一届大赛相比，本届大赛国赛精选项目数量大幅增加，重点增加了20个新职业和数字技术技能类赛项，如全媒体运营、互联网营销等。同时，新增智能制造工程技术、集成电路工程技术、工业互联网工程技术、人工智能工程技术、虚拟现实工程技术等5个专业技术类竞赛项目，这更加符合技术技能融合发展的趋势。

看点二：570余名硕博高学历选手比拼

职工身份参赛选手和高学历参赛选手大幅增加。参赛选手中职工2189人、学生1830人、灵活就业人员26人。职工选手占比54.1%，比第一届大赛增加7.6倍。所有参赛选手中，有博士25人、硕士546人、本科1131人，高学历参赛选手多数集中在新职业和数字技术技能领域。

看点三：“赛展演会”同台亮相

大赛同期将举办技能展示交流活动，各代表团共组织了190多个展示项目，同时还组织了技能大师见面会、现场技能体验、技能大集等活动，新增加移动机器人等8项群众技能体验擂台赛。将现场展演30项具有传统特色的绝技绝活，涵盖高新技术、手工制作、艺术创意等领域。由专家和观众投票评选出“最受欢迎的十大绝技”。

看点四：广东技能军团赛事全覆盖

在第一届全国技能大赛中，广东取得32金13银11铜和27个优胜奖，金牌数占全国的37%，金牌数、奖牌数和团体总分均居全国第一。在本次大赛中，广东共派出142名选手参加全部109个项目的比赛。

今年5月举办的广东省第三届职业技能大赛中，广东省21个地市、省属驻穗职业院校、技工院校、澳门特别行政区共计24支代表队、524名选手同台竞技，为第47届世界技能大赛和第二届全国技能大赛选拔种子选手。
