As one of the ten summit forums held during the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services, the World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development 2023 was held in Beijing on September 2nd. During the conference, the World Tourism Cities Federation officially released the World Tourism Cities Development Report (2022).

The report points out that the total number of tourists in the world in 2022 reached 9.57 billion, and the total tourism revenue reached 4.6 trillion dollars, recovering to about 66% and 80% of the amount in 2019, respectively.

The report takes 100 major tourist cities in the world as samples and conducts scientific and comprehensive analysis from six dimensions: city reputation, industry prosperity, city intelligence, tourism safety, economic contribution, and tourist satisfaction. A total of 32 sub-indices and 61 constituent indicators are established. The analysis results show that in the top 20 in the World Tourism City Development, three Chinese cities are on the list: Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, ranking 7th, 8th, and 9th, respectively.

Meanwhile, the report summarizes eight key findings on the development of global tourist cities in 2022:

1. Top Asia-Pacific tourism cities rapidly recover amid the pandemic, with a stable upward trend in their rankings

2. The Americas region shows a higher level of tourism recovery and industry prosperity.

3. The Middle East develops fast with an obvious rise in city ranking.

4. Europe recovers relatively fast but the ranking of European tourism cities has dropped significantly.

5. World tourism cities are experiencing recovery in both domestic tourism and international tourism, with international tourism recovering faster than domestic tourism.

6. The economic contribution of tourism is recovering steadily, but the investment of tourism resources in tourism cities is still insufficient.

7. The safety of world tourism cities has greatly improved compared with 2021, and Asia-Pacific tourism boasts a higher level of safety.

8. With the steady improvement of city intelligence, the digital development of tourism in Europe and the United States has been gaining momentum.

中国三城入选2022年世界旅游城市发展排行榜前20名

作为2023年中国国际服务贸易交易会期间举办的十场高峰论坛之一，9月2日，2023世界旅游合作与发展大会在北京召开。会上，世界旅游城市联合会正式发布了《世界旅游城市发展报告2022》。

报告指出，2022年全球旅游抵达总人数达95.7亿人次，旅游总收入实现4.6万亿美元，分别恢复至2019年的66%和80%左右。

报告以世界上100个主要旅游城市作为样本，从城市知名度、产业景气度、城市智慧度、旅游安全度、经济贡献度、游客满意度六个维度出发，设立32个分项指数和61个构成指标对样本城市进行科学、综合分析。分析结果显示，2022年世界旅游城市发展前20名排行榜中，中国有三个城市上榜，分别是北京、上海和香港，排名第7、第8和第9。

同时，报告总结得出2022年全球旅游城市发展的八个核心发现：

一是亚太地区头部旅游城市快速从疫情中恢复，排名稳定上升；

二是美洲地区旅游复苏程度和产业景气度更高；

三是中东地区发展迅猛，城市排名上升明显；

四是欧洲地区复苏进程较快，但旅游城市排名下降明显；

五是世界旅游城市国内旅游和国际旅游共同复苏，且国际旅游复苏的速度快于国内旅游；

六是旅游对经济的贡献度平稳回升，但旅游资源的投资仍然存在不足；

七是世界旅游城市安全度较2021年有了较大改善，亚太地区的旅游安全度更高；

八是城市智慧度发展水平稳步提升，欧美地区旅游数字化发展呈现较强趋势。
