As the 31st FISU World University Games is in full swing, three athletes from Guangzhou Polytechnic of Sports were brought into the spotlight.

They are Huang Bowen of the diving team, the first Guangdong athlete to claim a gold medal in the Games, Chen Guanfeng of the track and field team and Yang Shilu of the table tennis team, who will show up in the following games.

Although they are in different sports teams, they have all spent important periods of their lives at Guangzhou Polytechnic of Sports (Guangzhou Sports Team).

Chen Guanfeng, the flying man of Generation Z

In Chengdu Universiade this year, Guangdong athlete Chen Guanfeng will participate in the men's 100 meters and men's 4×100 relay. Before that, he has already achieved fruitful results. In 2017, the 17-year-old Guangzhou boy was recruited by coach Gu Yanqiang into the Guangzhou Sports Team to receive professional training; In 2021, he took the crown at the national Championships with a time of 10.06 seconds, ranking among the top four in the country's history and winning himself the title of the first "100-meter flying man" in the post-2000s generation.

However, when Chen first entered the Sports Team, his playful character used to be the biggest obstacle for him to make progress. As he grew older, he has learned to stay composed under the patient guidance of Gu Yanqiang, and has gradually obtained the confidence to make breakthroughs in his constant progress.

Huang Bowen, a self-disciplined boy wining the first diving champion

In the diving contest of Chengdu Universiade held on July 31st, Huang Bowen and his teammate Liang Zhaohui have claimed the gold medal in men's diving synchronized 3-meter springboard. Tan Jingyu, who used to be Huang's coach at Guangzhou Polytechnic of Sports, has witnessed his transformation in 17 years.

In her nearly 30-year-long coaching career, Tan has brought up famous diving champions such as Yang Jinghui, Zhang Yanquan and Chen Aisen. But even so, she still regards Huang Bowen as a special athlete. As Tan Jingyu put it, "He was strong in execution and very self-disciplined, and always did his homework and training as he should. As an optimistic and cheerful boy, he was able to master the skills quickly. I was free from worry when training him."

Yang Shilu, the "Iron Woman"

In the table tennis games of this year';s Universiade, athlete Yang Shilu is also expected to break into the top third of team competition.

Eleven years ago, the 9-year-old girl Yang Shilu was recruited by Zhang Jingqing, a coach from Guangzhou Sports Team, and thus started her journey of professional table tennis training. Zhao Shuang, who used to be Yang's coach in the Guangzhou table tennis team, said of her: "This girl was born for table tennis."

On the training ground, Yang Shilu is so immersed in her training even without the supervision of the coach. During her preparation for the 15th Games of Guangdong Province, she broke her big toenail in running, but she chose to bite the bullet without a word. It was not until the Games kicked off that the coach knew about her injury. Ever since then, she was nicknamed the "Iron Woman".

大运会上的广东强将是如何炼成的？

第三十一届世界大学生夏季运动会激战正酣，从广州职校走出的三位运动员备受瞩目——跳水队黄博文成为首位夺金的广东运动员，田径队选手陈冠锋和乒乓球队选手杨诗璐也即将在未来几日的赛程中亮相。

尽管三人项目不同，但广州体育职业技术学院（广州市体工队）都是他们曾经停驻过的重要一站。

“00后”百米飞人陈冠锋

今年大运会，广东选手陈冠锋将出征男子100米和男子4×100接力的比赛。此前，他已是战果累累——2017年，17岁的广州仔陈冠锋被教练顾燕强招入麾下，开始在广州体育职业技术学院（广州市体工队）接受专业训练；2021年，他在全国锦标赛上以10.06秒的成绩夺冠，跻身全国历史最好成绩前四名，占据“00后”百米飞人第一把交椅……

但初入体校时的陈冠锋状态并不好，贪玩曾是阻碍陈冠锋成绩进步的重要原因。随着年龄增长和教练顾燕强的慢慢引导，陈冠锋越来越沉得住气，在不断进步中，有了突破自己的自信。

跳水首金“自律王”黄博文

在7月31日举行的成都大运会跳水比赛中，黄博文与队友梁朝辉摘得男子双人3米板金牌。作为黄博文曾经的教练，广州体育职业技术学院（广州市体工队）谭静瑜见证了他17年的蜕变。

执教近30年，谭静瑜带出过杨景辉、张雁全、陈艾森等知名跳水冠军，即便如此，她仍旧认为黄博文是很特别的一个。谭静瑜说：“他执行力强、自律，该写作业就写作业，该训练就训练。性格阳光开朗，学东西又快又稳，带他真的很省心！”

“钢铁侠”杨诗璐

今年在大运会乒乓球项目上有望冲入团体前三的，还有从广州体育职业技术学院（广州市体工队）走出的选手杨诗璐。

11年前，9岁的杨诗璐被广州市体工队张晶清教练选中，来到广州，开启专业乒乓球训练生涯。杨诗璐曾经的广州市乒乓球队教练赵爽评价她：“这孩子骨子里有球。”

训练场上，杨诗璐格外认真，即便没有教练监督，自己也能全身心投入训练中。在备战第十五届广东省运动会期间，杨诗璐在集训中跑步受伤，大脚趾指甲断裂，但她一声不吭，直到比赛时教练才知，故赵爽送其绰号“钢铁侠”。
