As the mascot of the ongoing 31st Summer Universiade, Rongbao has won the hearts of the local populace. Peripherals featuring Rongbao have sold out rapidly, particularly plush toys, which are generally out of stock due to soaring consumer enthusiasm, making commodities around "Rongbao" quite elusive.
Some popular mascot peripherals of sports events, including the Bing Dwen Dwen for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and the La'eeb for Qatar's FIFA World Cup, are produced in Dongguan. Additionally, the cute mascot Rongbao also originates from Dongguan, known as the "capital of China's designer toys".
On the afternoon of August 1st, reporters visited the birthplace of Rongbao plush toys in Dongguan - Guangdong Hayidai Toys Co., Ltd. (shortly referred to as "Hayidai"), where 100,000 Rongbao plushies were en route to Chengdu to alleviate the stock-out pressure.
Rongbao serves as the image symbol of Chengdu Universiade, enhancing the joyful, warm, and friendly competition atmosphere while showcasing the city's urban culture and spirit. With its flame-like "dark circles" and small ears, Rongbao has been deemed incredibly cute.
The plush toys of Rongbao boast an appealing appearance and an excellent tactile sensation. Their producer HaYiDai had invested considerable effort in its production of quality. The fabric of plushies was specifically developed for "Rongbao", with both long and short plush mimicking the panda's fur, offering an extremely comfortable and smooth touch.
"The best-selling ones are these four products, including the standing and sitting 'Rongbao' and two 'Rongbao' small shoulder bags," according to Xiao Senlin the Chairman of HaYiDai. For Chengdu Universiade, the company have developed over 70 types of Rongbao-related products, including plush dolls, hand puppets, headbands, shoulder bags, backpacks, keychains, pillows, and more. This marks the most extensive development effort among the 27 events that Hayidai has collaborated on.
10万只“蓉宝”正从东莞奔赴成都
第31届世界大学生夏季运动会正在成都举行,本次大赛吉祥物“蓉宝”深受广大市民喜爱。据媒体报道,“蓉宝”周边产品已经卖到脱销,尤其是毛绒系列产品更是普遍断货,大众的消费热情高涨,一“蓉”难求。
前有东莞制造一“墩”难求的北京冬奥会吉祥物冰墩墩,后有东莞制造的卡塔尔世界杯吉祥物“拉伊卜”,有网友发现,原来萌萌的大熊猫“蓉宝”也是来自“中国潮流之都”东莞。
8月1日下午,记者来到“蓉宝”毛绒玩具的诞生地——位于东莞的广东哈一代玩具有限公司(以下简称“哈一代”),10万只“蓉宝”正从这里赶往成都,缓解脱销压力。
作为成都大运会的形象代表,“蓉宝”不仅营造出欢乐、热烈、友好的比赛氛围,更是成都城市文化和精神的代表。有着两个形似火焰的“黑眼圈”和小耳朵的“蓉宝”,让人直呼萌萌哒。
“蓉宝”不仅外形可爱,手感还很棒很好摸。原来,哈一代在蓉宝的制作上花费了许多心思,面料是专为蓉宝研发的,毛绒模拟熊猫毛发,有长有短,触感非常舒适柔顺,质感十足。
“目前销量最好的有这四款产品,分别是站立和坐立的‘蓉宝’及两款‘蓉宝’小挎包。”据哈一代企业董事长肖森林介绍,本次为成都大运会开发的“蓉宝”相关产品多达70多个品类,包括毛绒玩偶、手偶、发带、挎包、双肩包、钥匙扣、抱枕等,是哈一代合作过的27次赛事中开发力度最大的一次。
