In the afternoon of May 17, experts, scholars, domestic media and overseas Chinese media executives discussed the topic of "How overseas Chinese media tell the story of China's high-quality development" at one of the sub-conferences of the 2023 Overseas Chinese Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Conference held in Jiangmen.
Zhang Jianyue, President of China News Service(CNS) G.D.Branch, took "Exchange of Chinese and foreign cultures with people-to-people bonds" as the theme of his speech, saying that the Chinese excellent traditional culture enjoys a strong power of communication and that the Lingnan area in southern China functions as an"ark" for traditional culture transmission, which provides rich materials and opportunities for media communication. He also emphasized the need to keep investing efforts to promote the dissemination of Chinese excellent traditional culture and make new contributions to promoting the exchange of Chinese and foreign cultures and enhancing people-to-people bonds.
Ma Limei, President of Journal Puxin, believes that "what's unique for a nation is also precious for the world.", which means the dissemination of culture is welcome anywhere in the world. Overseas Chinese media should tell the story of Chinese culture in a way that is close to the local audience and enjoyable to the public.
At the sub-conference, the directors of several Chinese media all mentioned the international communication platform from the Yangcheng Evening News called "Lingnan on the Cloud" Cultural Expo, in which overseas Chinese media tell the past, present and future stories of Guangdong through their cooperation with its special columns such as "Voice of Lingnan Culture" and "Lingnan Culture". The platform has become an important window for overseas to learn about Guangdong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Other media representatives also consider that overseas Chinese media should provide accurate interpretations of China's policies and measures for high-quality development from multiple perspectives, including the lives of Chinese people, and the insights of entrepreneurs and policy promoters. As for how to conduct international communication more effectively, Huang Qiwang, founder of Chinese Headlines New Media, believes that it is necessary to follow the local customs, or at least to work on both communication channels and content channels when it comes to international communication.
华文媒体传播中华优秀文化 讲好中国故事
5月17日下午,在江门举办的2023华侨华人粤港澳大湾区大会“华文媒体”分论坛上,专家学者、国内媒体、海外华文媒体高层围绕“海外华文媒体如何讲好中国高质量发展故事”主题展开热议。
中国新闻社广东分社社长张见悦以“中外文明交流、民心相通”作为发言主题,他认为中华优秀传统文化具有强大的传播力,岭南大地犹如传统文化传承的“大船”,为媒体传播提供了丰富的素材和机遇,要继续投入力量,做好中华优秀传统文化的传播,为推动中外文明交流、民心相通作出新的贡献。
葡新报社长马丽梅认为“民族的才是世界的”,传播文化在全世界任何地方都会受到欢迎。海外华文媒体应以一种贴近所在国受众、大众喜闻乐见的形式去讲好中华优秀传统文化故事。
在论坛上,多家华文媒体的负责人均提到了羊城晚报“云上岭南”文化博览会的国际传播平台项目,海外华文媒体通过与《乡音》《岭南文脉》等品牌栏目的合作,讲述了广东各地的过去、现在与未来,成为海外了解广东、粤港澳大湾区的重要窗口。
也有媒体代表认为,海外华文媒体应对中国高质量发展的政策和措施进行准确解读,从中国人民的生活、企业家的见解、政策推动者的视角等多个方面来讲述。对于如何做更有效的国际传播,华人头条创始人黄其旺认为,要做国际传播,就要入乡随俗,至少需要在传播渠道、内容渠道两个渠道上发力。
