On the afternoon of the 17th, the themed session on "Building Overseas Chinese Community" was held at the 2023 Overseas Chinese Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Conference. Under the theme of "Gathering Overseas Chinese Wisdom, Discussing the New Mission of Community Building", representatives from various overseas Chinese communities, as well as experts and scholars, expressed their views and suggestions.

Mr. Lin Chuqin, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the exemplary role played by the unity and cooperation of Thai-Chinese communities on the international stage. He particularly praised the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, which has a history of 113 years and has become one of the most influential associations among overseas Chinese in Thailand. The chamber has established connections with 74 industry associations and has long been committed to promoting Thailand-China friendship, facilitating bilateral economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges, and two-way investments. 

Mr. Lin stated that the GBA is a major national strategic initiative that will unlock significant opportunities for deepening China's reform and opening-up. Holding this conference in Jiangmen, a renowned overseas Chinese hometown and an important city in the Greater Bay Area, will attract global attention to the region and encourage more international investments in China. This has also provided clear guidance for businesses owned by overseas Chinese in various countries to participate in the development of their ancestral homeland. Mr. Lin further emphasized that the conference aims to promote the connection between overseas Chinese communities and their homeland, playing a role in facilitating bilateral economic and trade investments."As long as cooperation is mutually beneficial, it is the ultimate success!" he added.

Mr. Jin Guozhong, President of the CCCLCAE, emphasized the unique advantage of overseas Chinese communities in connecting China with the rest of the world. He stated, "In building overseas Chinese communities, we should tell the Chinese story and serve as a bridge between China and the outside world, contributing the strength of overseas Chinese communities to constructing a community with a shared future for humanity."

Professor Zhang Guoxiong, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Overseas Chinese History and former Vice President of Wuyi University, pointed out that when overseas Chinese engage in the development of their host countries, the cultural traditions and character of the Chinese nation, characterized by seeking harmony without uniformity, can be promoted. This helps the local people learn the scientific, rational, and feasible concept of building a community with a shared future for humanity from the overseas Chinese, thereby enhancing China's influence in spreading this idea.

侨团建设助推海内外双向受益   

5月17日下午，2023华侨华人粤港澳大湾区大会举行“侨团建设”主题分会。该场论坛以“汇聚四海侨智，共商侨团新使命”为主题，多位侨团代表、专家学者纷纷发表观点和建议。

泰国中华总商会主席林楚钦介绍称，泰国华人社团的团结协作在国际上作出了表率，尤其是泰国中华总商会，成立迄今已拥有113年历史，成为泰华社会最具影响力的社团之一，与74个行业公会联谊，长期致力于推动泰中友好，促进两国经贸合作、文化交流与双向投资。

林楚钦表示，粤港澳大湾区建设是国家重大战略，将释放中国深化改革开放的重大机遇。此次大会在著名侨乡、大湾区重要节点城市江门举办，将吸引全球更多目光关注大湾区、投资中国，为各国华商企业参与祖国建设指明了方向。林楚钦说，参会旨在推动侨乡和海外侨胞的联结，在推动经贸双向投资方面发挥作用。“只要让合作双边有利益，就是最大的成功！”

“在做好海外侨团建设过程中，我们要发挥融通中外的独特优势，讲好中国故事，积极做连接中国与世界的桥梁和纽带，为构建人类命运共同体贡献侨团的力量。”阿联酋迪拜龙城华侨华人总商会会长金国中说。

中国华侨历史学会副会长，五邑大学原副校长张国雄教授认为，通过侨胞参与住在国发展的建设，传播中华民族“和而不同”的文化传统和文化性格，让住在国民众从侨胞身上认知中国构建人类命运共同体理念的科学性、合理性、可行性，提升传播力。
