There is a traditional custom in Guangzhou which is practiced during the Mid-Autumn Festival. That is to make lanterns with bamboo strips. People will make lanterns painted with various colors and hang it on rooftops, so that they can compete with the bright moon. Nowadays, bamboo lanterns are harder to find. Fortunately, there was a carpenter in Guangzhou whomadelanterns by hand every day despite being over seventy years old. Let’s enjoy the beauty of this traditional festival together!
