On October 14th, the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened in Guangzhou. Over the past seven decades, the Canton Fair has stood the test of changing times, embodying China's vision of mutually beneficial and win-win trade and bringing confidence and vitality to global trade marked by uncertainty.
As the host province, Guangdong has demonstrated strong resilience in foreign trade. In the first half of this year, its total imports and exports surpassed 5 trillion yuan for the first time, up 20.8% year on year. Several key indicators ranked among the highest in the country, underscoring Guangdong's strength as a major foreign trade province.

Guangdong's foreign trade has grown in both scale and quality, with its export structure continuing to improve. Mechanical and electrical products accounted for more than 70% of exports, while exports of high-end manufactured goods such as integrated circuits, industrial robots, lithium-ion batteries and new energy vehicles posted strong growth. High-quality, intelligent products made in Guangdong are serving people and businesses around the world, providing tangible support for production and daily life overseas.

Guangdong's foreign trade has evolved from exporting individual products to taking entire industrial chains global. Leading enterprises in the province have taken the initiative to expand overseas, establishing production, operation and maintenance, and recycling bases in multiple countries while actively adapting to international rules and standards. By leading supporting enterprises to expand overseas as clusters, these industry leaders are helping expand global markets and foster mutually beneficial development, rather than engaging in a zero-sum game.

Institutional innovation continues to drive the high-quality development of foreign trade.
