During the National Day holiday, the Guangzhou City Living Room (Yuexiu Wonder City) in Nancun Town, Panyu District, attracted numerous visitors. The "Reading Guangzhou: Cantonese Life and Culture Exhibition," currently on display, uses reading as a starting point, combining themed books, urban illustrations, audio content, interactive experiences, and public cultural activities.

With books as its central thread, the exhibition combines publications related to Cantonese culture with contemporary images, sound, and spatial experiences. It also features urban illustrations, cultural interaction, Cantonese reading sessions, and children's singing performances. Some of the participating authors also introduced their books and works to visitors on site.

At the opening event held recently, Ma Rui, Chairman and General Manager of Guangzhou Yueguan Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., delivered a speech on behalf of the organizers, while Lin Yuhou, the head of the Guangzhou City Living Room, introduced the "Reading Guangzhou" project.

Huang Junying, a renowned Cantonese crosstalk artist and recipient of the Guangdong Literature and Art Lifetime Achievement Award, shared his thoughts based on his years of involvement in promoting Cantonese culture and presented the Guangzhou City Living Room with a piece of calligraphy he had personally inscribed. He said that passing on Cantonese culture should not be confined to stages and exhibitions, but should also become part of young people's everyday lives.

Zhang Chi, an ambassador for the promotion of Cantonese culture, said that Cantonese preserves pronunciations and vocabulary from ancient Chinese that date back 2,000 years, as well as the shared memories of Guangzhou residents. The language serves as a bridge connecting overseas members of the Cantonese community through a shared sense of belonging and identity.

The exhibition is open to the public and runs until December 30th.

广州番禺：城市会客厅沉浸式体验广府文化

国庆假期，位于广州市番禺区南村镇的广州城市会客厅（越秀·万博和臻）迎来不少观众打卡。正在展出的“粤”读广州·广府生活文化展，以阅读为入口，融合主题书籍、城市插画、声音内容、互动体验和公共文化活动。

本次展览以“书”为线索，将广府文化相关出版物与当代图像、声音及空间体验结合，并融入城市插画、文化互动、粤读小课堂及童声演唱等板块。部分参展作者还在现场结合书籍与作品进行导赏。

在日前举行的开幕活动上，广州越冠房地产有限公司董事长、总经理马锐代表主办方致辞，广州城市会客厅主理人林雨后介绍了“粤”读广州项目。

广东文艺终身成就奖获得者、著名粤语相声表演艺术家黄俊英结合长期参与粤语文化传播的经历分享感受，并向广州城市会客厅赠送亲笔题写的墨宝。他说，粤语文化的传承不能只停留在舞台和展览中，更要走进年轻人的生活。

广府文化推广大使张弛表示，粤语保留着2000年历史的古汉语发音、词汇和广州人的共同记忆，是连接海外广府人情感共鸣与身份认同的桥梁。

本次展览向公众开放，将持续展至12月30日。
