On the evening of October 3rd, the second leg of the Guangdong City Football Super League (Yuechao) Semi-Final kicked off in Guangming District, Shenzhen, with the Shenzhen Team facing the Guangzhou Team at the Shenzhen Youth Football Training Base in Lisonglang Community. Snooker world champion Zhao Xintong came to the stadium for the ceremonial kickoff and held the Lisonglang Community IP character "A-Lang" to cheer for the Shenzhen Team.

"A-Lang" is a promotional mascot who loves football, excels at dragon boat racing and is skilled in lion dancing. Lisonglang is an ancient village with a history of nearly 600 years. In the mid-Ming Dynasty, the ancestors of the Liang family migrated here from Dongguan, leaving behind such historical remains as the Liang Ancestral Hall and an ancient well, while also giving rise to folk traditions such as lion dancing and dragon boat racing that continue to this day.
The Shenzhen Youth Football Training Base covers about 197,000 square meters and features facilities including a professional football stadium with 10,000 seats. The AFC U20 Asian Cup, the 15th National Games of the People's Republic of China and the Yuechao league have all been held here.
Hosting a major tournament takes more than just a venue. During the competition, more than 400 community workers and volunteers took part in event services, directing visitors at subway entrances, setting up traffic guidance posts and managing crowds after matches. The community also opened its Party-Masses Service Center as a fan station, providing hot water, seats and emergency rain gear, while the 1436 Reception Hall offered a space for people to watch the matches live.
What has rooted football in the community is not just the tournaments, but everyday life beyond them. The community transformed an unused plot of land into the approximately 800-square-meter 1436 Football Pocket Park, where it offers free football experience classes for young people and organizes neighborhood football leagues.
In this sense, Yuechao is merely a starting point. Here, there are stories spanning 600 years, as well as new stories unfolding today.
