Step through the grand entrance of a traditional Chaoshan-style building, and a world of historic architecture unfolds inside. The exhibition features detailed models of traditional dwellings, including "Tiger Coming Downhill Houses" and quadrangle with four gabled chambers, arranged throughout the exhibition space. Upturned eaves, intricate porcelain inlay and lime sculpture recreate the distinctive decorative features of Chaoshan architecture. Rows of scaled residential models also showcase traditional construction techniques and architectural structures, down to individual wooden components and traditional-style landscaping details. Together, these carefully crafted models offer visitors a closer look at the architectural traditions and craftsmanship that have shaped Chaoshan's historic residential culture.
