At a press conference held by the Information Office of the People's Government of Guangdong on September 29th, it was announced that the International Humanoid Robot Basketball Association (RBA) is planned to take place in Guangzhou in April 2027. The event will invite relevant humanoid robot companies, universities, research institutes, R&D institutions, innovation teams, and robot sports organizations from around the world to participate.

The competition features two categories, competitive events and exhibition events, both designed to be technically challenging and entertaining. The competitive events focus on fundamental basketball actions such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, and comprise five challenges: free-throw shooting, moving three-point shooting, human-robot collaborative passing and catching, stationary dribbling endurance contest, and obstacle-avoiding dribbling and layup. In contrast, the exhibition events have no fixed movements or routes. Participants can choreograph their own freestyle basketball moves and formation changes to fully showcase the robots' overall capabilities.

Robots in the competitive events must have a humanoid body structure consisting of a head, torso, two arms, and two feet, with all body parts connected to the torso and the two feet serving as the sole means of locomotion. In terms of mobility, they must be capable of walking upright on two feet and autonomously recovering from falls. There are no restrictions on the lower-body structure of robots participating in the freestyle basketball exhibition events. All competing robots must be equipped as standard with a handheld controller that allows assisted operation in an emergency, and an emergency stop button.

To date, over 2,000 humanoid robots have been deployed at major manufacturing enterprises across Guangdong and are now in stable use in real-world scenarios. The number of humanoid robots deployed in factories in 2026 is expected to exceed 3,000.

明年4月来广州看人形机器人篮球赛

9月29日，广东省人民政府新闻办新闻发布会透露，国际人形机器人篮球挑战赛（RBA）拟于2027年4月在广州举办，将邀请全球各有关人形机器人企业、高校、科研院所、研发机构、创新团队及机器人运动组织参加。

据介绍，赛项方面设置了竞技赛和表演赛两个兼具技术挑战性和观赏性的比赛类别，其中竞技赛主要围绕拍球、传接球、投篮等基本动作，设置了定点罚球投篮、移动三分球投篮、人机协同传接球、原地运球耐力赛、运球避障上篮五个项目；表演赛则不设固定动作和固定路线，自行编排花式篮球动作与队形变化，充分展示机器人综合技能。

竞技赛机器人须具备类人形身体结构，由头部、躯干、双臂及双足组成，且所有部位均与躯干相连，双足为唯一行走执行机构；运动能力方面须具备双脚直立行走能力，且能自主完成跌倒恢复动作。花式篮球表演赛机器人下身结构不作限制。所有参赛机器人必须标配具备应急辅助操作功能的手柄及紧急停止按钮。

截至目前，全省已有超2000台人形机器人进驻各大制造企业、稳定落地实景场景，全年进厂机器人有望突破3000台。
