City Life | Whether setting sail from Guangzhou or Quanzhou, Ningbo or Xuwen, merchant ships plying the Maritime Silk Road once passed through the waters of Lingdingyang. Countless vessels carried Chinese porcelain, tea and silk overseas, while returning with spices, ivory, rhinoceros horn and precious gems. To date, relics linked to the Maritime Silk Road have been found on 16 islands in Zhuhai’s Wanshan Zone, offering evidence of Lingdingyang’s role as an important maritime corridor along this ancient trade route. Today, the winds still sweep across Lingdingyang. As China aims to build a strong maritime nation, these waters are drawing on their strategic location to chart a new chapter. #citylife

无论从广州、泉州出发，还是从宁波、徐闻起航，伶仃洋都是“海上丝绸之路”商船必经的重要海域。无数商船由此将中国的陶瓷、茶叶和丝绸带向海外，也将香料、象牙、犀角和珠宝运抵中国。目前，珠海万山区已有16个岛屿发现与“海上丝绸之路”相关的遗物，证明了伶仃洋是这条古道的重要走廊。风起伶仃洋，如今在“海洋强国”战略背景下，这片海域正以独特的区位优势书写新的辉煌。
