Prior to its opening on September 5th in Shenzhen, the Asia-Pacific Media Forum invited global guests to visit the Greater Bay Area. The three-day trip proved to be highly rewarding for these guests.

Chinese manufacturing was the first thing to impress the guests. One out of every three smartphones sold worldwide is made in Guangdong, which did not surprise Donovan Martin, CEO and editor-in-chief of Canada's Daily Scrum News. He admitted that he and his son are fans of Huawei phones and was also captivated by vivo foldable phones and AI glasses. Imtiaz Ahmed, executive director of the Centre for Alternatives, Bangladesh, highlighted that the stereotype "China only copies" has been broken by tangible independent innovation of Chinese manufacturing.

Chinese experience also left the foreign guests in awe, with the high speed of Guangzhou Metro Line 18, Nansha Port's smart operations, Ming Yang Smart Energy's wind power technology and so on. Aman ul Haq, International Relations Director of Pakistan Television Corporation, pointed out that with a highly inclusive development model, China has been making concrete efforts to drive growth in the Asia-Pacific region as well as in other parts of the world.

Nowadays, unfriendly remarks about China surface on overseas social media every now and then. In response, Charles Stephen Farr, executive director of the Secretariat of the Guangzhou International Sister City University Alliance, offered a sharp retort, "If you've never been to China, what gives you the right to criticize? " Besides, Donovan Martin also stated that to tell a true, accurate story of China, journalists must come and see the country for themselves.

全球媒体看广东，达成哪些共识？

9月5日，亚太媒体高端论坛在深圳开幕。在开幕前，论坛邀请了来自全球的嘉宾在大湾区考察。3天的参访之旅，另外宾们收获颇丰。

首先惊艳外宾们的是“中国制造”。全球每卖出3部手机，就有一部“广东造”。加拿大“每日新闻”首席执行官兼总编多诺万·马丁对这个数据毫不意外，他坦言自己和儿子都是华为手机的粉丝，此行看到的VIVO折叠手机、AI眼镜让他印象深刻。孟加拉国智库选择研究中心执行主任伊姆提亚兹·艾哈迈德特别提到，过去说“中国只会抄袭”，但现在能很直观地看到“中国制造”的自主创新。

“中国经验”同样令外宾感叹。广州地铁18号线的速度、南沙港的智能化、明阳智慧能源集团的风电科技，都令外宾印象深刻。巴基斯坦电视台国际关系总监阿曼·哈克特别指出，中国的发展方式极具包容性，中国在真正推动亚太地区发展，同时也在推动世界其他地区的发展。

目前海外社交平台上不时出现对中国不甚友好的言论，对此，广州国际友城大学联盟秘书处执行主任查尔斯·斯蒂夫·法尔态度非常犀利：“没来过中国，你凭什么指手画脚？”多诺万·马丁表示，想要讲述真实准确的中国，记者必须亲自来看。
