The seawater cools by 3–5°C during the process and then flows steadily through open channels. According to a Yangcheng Evening News reporter who visited the site, this valuable industrial cold energy was once simply discharged into the sea with the wastewater. 时至初秋，户外暑气尚未消散，而深圳大鹏LNG接收站内的养殖基地却自成一方清凉秘境。海风掠过厂区，海水开架式气化器(ORV)持续运转，零下162℃的液化天然气在此与海水完成热交换，换热后降温3-5摄氏度的冷海水顺着明渠汩汩流淌。羊城晚报记者实地探访后了解到，以往这份宝贵的工业余冷只会随尾水排入大海、白白损耗，但如今却变废为宝，化身滋养高端海产的养殖“钻石水”，赋能一座绿色低碳的现代化海洋养殖基地高效运转。
