Over 120 Shenzhen AI firms made a strong showing at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai on July 17th. Leading companies including Huawei, Tencent and ZTE spearheaded the delegation, joined by a large number of fast-growing technology innovators, showcasing Shenzhen's strength in AI.

In 2025, Shenzhen's AI core industries exceeded 220 billion yuan in scale, with the number of enterprises above the designated size surpassing 2,600. From AI computing chips and algorithm frameworks to large language models (LLMs), and software and hardware applications, Shenzhen has built a full-stack AI industrial chain.
Leveraging the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's globally unique ecosystem featuring the integration of smart vehicles, machinery, electronics and the AI industrial supply chain, Shenzhen has achieved rapid development in end‑use products such as smartphones, smart glasses, autonomous vehicles and intelligent robots. The city has accelerated the product iteration cycle from "design in the morning, prototype in the afternoon, mass production the next day, and overseas market entry within a week."
Computing power and data serve as the "lifeblood" and "backbone" of AI. Shenzhen has taken an early lead nationwide in these areas. The country's first 10,000-card fully self-controlled intelligent computing cluster built with domestically developed advanced chips has been fully deployed, delivering 14,000P of AI computing capacity. Pengcheng Cloudbrain III is under accelerated construction, while the National Supercomputing Center Phase II "Lingsheng" has topped the world's TOP 500 supercomputer rankings. A sustainable computing infrastructure system featuring integration of high-performance computing and AI computing, heterogeneous integration, integrated training and inference, and inclusive, ubiquitous access is no longer just a blueprint but a reality.
At this year's WAIC, Shenzhen's Futian District organized a dedicated exhibition group. Eight leading enterprises covering AI computing infrastructure, brain-inspired large models, intelligent robots and vertical industry applications made their debut at the main exhibition hall. In addition, benchmark companies in the district, including HONOR Device Co., Ltd., Zhuoshi Technology and Edensoft, participated with independent exhibition booths, forming a strong lineup of Futian-based companies showcasing their collective capabilities.
