On the evening of July 16th, the opening night of the Ultimate Robot Knock‑out Legend (URKL)—the world's first humanoid robot fighting tournament—kicked off at the Shenzhen Nanshan Cultural and Sports Center. The robots from the "White Eagle" team and the "Matador" team fought in intense close‑range combat inside the octagonal cage, attracting a large crowd of local residents, students, and tech enthusiasts.

Donnie Yen, a renowned action actor, was at the event and shared his thoughts. He said that while he had previously only encountered robot battles in science fiction films, witnessing real‑life robot combat up close left him completely awestruck.

This tournament, initiated and hosted by EngineAI, attracted registrations from over 200 teams worldwide. After a rigorous screening and preliminary rounds, 32 teams made it through. The competition adopts a composite format combining preliminaries, a double round‑robin group stage, and a double‑elimination knockout system. Teams must survive four grueling stages, namely preliminaries, qualifiers, group stage, and finals, to claim the championship. The global finals are scheduled for the end of this year, when the champions will take home a solid gold championship belt valued at 10 million yuan, or an equivalent cash prize.

Robot combat is essentially an extreme stress test for humanoid robots. The high‑intensity bouts in the ring constantly validate the hardware's impact resistance and motion control algorithms, generating critical real‑world data that paves the way for commercial deployment. Zhao Tongyang, founder of EngineAI, said that the tournament is not just about staging robot duels, but about building a global platform for humanoid robot fighting competitions.

知名动作演员甄子丹现场观赛并分享感受，他说，过往只在科幻电影里见过机甲格斗，此番近距离见证真实机甲对决，内心满是震撼。

本次赛事由深圳众擎机器人科技股份有限公司发起主办，吸引全球超过200支队伍报名，经过严格筛选和海选比拼，最终32支队伍晋级。赛事采用“海选+分组双循环赛+双败淘汰赛”的复合赛制，参赛队伍需要经历“海选赛-入围赛-小组赛-总决赛”的四轮严苛考验，才能问鼎冠军宝座。据悉，全球总决赛预计年底进行，冠军队伍可独揽价值千万元的纯金腰带或对应等值奖金。

格斗本质是人形机器人的极限压力试验场，高强度擂台对抗持续验证设备抗冲击硬件、运动控制算法，为机器人商业化落地积累关键实测数据。众擎机器人创始人赵同阳表示，赛事打造的不仅是机器人的擂台对决，更希望建立起一个全球性的人形机器人格斗赛事平台。
