In the first half of this year, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport recorded a passenger throughput of 43.33 million, the highest of any airport in China. Behind this figure lies the market depth of Guangdong, a major economic powerhouse, and the open heritage of Guangzhou, a millennium commercial capital. It also speaks to the dynamic vitality of Guangdong's industrial clusters as they connect with global markets and drive the mutually reinforcing domestic and international dual circulation.

In October 2025, Baiyun Airport's Terminal 3 and its fifth runway went into operation together, officially ushering in a large‑scale operating phase featuring five runways and three terminals. The expanded airport now has the capacity to handle 120 million passengers and 3.8 million tons of cargo and mail annually, and its final designed capacity is set to rise to 140 million passengers and 6 million tons.

Alongside the expansion of its infrastructure, Baiyun Airport has continued to strengthen its role as an international gateway. According to statistics from the Baiyun Border Inspection Station of the Guangzhou General Station of Immigration Inspection, the airport has recorded over 10 million inbound and outbound passenger crossings as of July 3rd this year, a year‑on‑year increase of 19.6%. Daily inbound and outbound passenger traffic peaked at 64,000, marking the highest level in recent years.

Foreign travelers surpassed 3.9 million, a 34% year‑on‑year increase that outpaced the national average by 8 percentage points, making up over 41% of all passenger movements. Both figures set new records in number and share. Currently, the airport serves passengers arriving from or departing for 198 countries and regions.

全国第一！白云机场上半年旅客吞吐量4333万人次

今年上半年，广州白云国际机场旅客吞吐量达到4333.33万人次，位居全国机场首位。在“全国第一”的数据背后，映照的是一个经济大省的市场纵深、一座千年商都的开放传统，也展现出广东产业集群链接全球市场、国内国际双循环相互促进的蓬勃活力。

2025年10月，白云机场T3航站楼与第五跑道同步启用，机场正式迈入“五条跑道、三座航站楼”的超大规模运行时代。扩建后的白云机场近期可满足年旅客吞吐量1.2亿人次、货邮吞吐量380万吨的使用需求，终端设计容量将进一步提升至年旅客吞吐量1.4亿人次、货邮吞吐量600万吨。

在硬件扩容的同时，白云机场的国际门户功能也在持续增强。据广州边检总站白云边检站统计，截至7月3日，白云机场口岸今年出入境人员已超过1000万人次，同比增长19.6%；单日出入境客流峰值达到6.4万人次，创下近年来新高。

其中，出入境外国人超过390万人次，同比增长34%，增速高于全国平均水平8个百分点，占口岸出入境人员总量的41%以上，数量和占比均创历史新高。目前，经白云机场口岸出入境人员已覆盖全球198个国家和地区。
