As Father's Day approaches, Lee Heungsoo, a South Korean living in Hong Kong, plans to celebrate the occasion with his father-in-law by taking the whole family out for a meal. A father of three boys and the first South Korean pharmacist to obtain a professional license in Hong Kong, Lee's decade-long journey in the city began with a cross-border love story.

Lee met Joanne, a Hong Kong woman working in South Korea, on the streets of Korea. To better understand his future wife's background, he taught himself Cantonese and Chinese from scratch. After getting married, the couple initially settled in South Korea. However, Joanne often missed her hometown. Taking his wife's homesickness into consideration, Lee made the decision to move the whole family to Hong Kong.

Lee later passed the Hong Kong Pharmacist Registration Exam with outstanding results, becoming the first South Korean pharmacist to obtain a license and practice in the city. When the family arrived in Hong Kong in 2016, they already had two sons. Their third child was later born in Hong Kong, and the family of five gradually put down roots in the city.

Ten years on, Lee has fully embraced life in Hong Kong. He enjoys local favorites such as beef brisket noodles and Hong Kong-style dim sum, frequently revisits films starring Stephen Chow, and chats fluently with neighbors in Cantonese. During holidays, he takes his family to beaches and the countryside. His lifestyle is now little different from that of a native Hong Kong resident.

As a beneficiary of Hong Kong's global talent attraction initiatives, Lee's story serves as a vivid example of the city's openness and inclusiveness. "Hong Kong is an open and welcoming city, and local people are very friendly," Lee said. "As long as you are willing to communicate proactively, people will accept you."

韩国爸爸来港十年，是什么让他在此安家？

父亲节将至，来自韩国的李兴洙（Lee Heungsoo）打算和岳父一同过节，两位父亲带上全家聚餐。作为三个男孩的父亲，也是首位考取香港执业资格的韩国药剂师，李兴洙的十年香港路，始于一场跨越山海的爱情。

在韩国街头李兴洙结识了来韩工作的香港女孩Joanne，为了贴近爱人的生活，他从零自学粤语与中文。二人婚后起初定居韩国，但Joanne时常思念家乡，考虑到妻子的乡愁，李兴洙做了一个决定：举家搬去香港。

李兴洙以优异成绩通过香港药剂师执业考试，成为首位考取牌照、在港从业的韩国药剂师。2016年抵港时，夫妻俩已经带着两个儿子，后来又在香港迎来了第三个孩子，一家五口就这样在香港的街巷里扎了根。

十年过去，李兴洙的生活早已融入这座城市。平日里爱吃牛腩面、港式点心，常重温周星驰的电影，能流畅用粤语和街坊闲聊；假期会带着家人去沙滩、郊外游玩，他的生活习惯和土生土长的香港人别无二致。

作为香港全球引才政策的受益者，李兴洙的经历正是城市开放包容的鲜活样本。李兴洙说：“香港是一座包容开放的城市，本地人十分友善，只要愿意主动沟通，大家都会接纳你。”
