On June 17th, 2026, the Guangdong Province 6G Industry Innovation Development Alliance Establishment Conference and Guangdong Province 6G Innovation Development Seminar were held in Guangzhou. The event marked the official establishment of the Guangdong Province 6G Industry Innovation Development Alliance, aiming to advance coordinated innovation and high-quality development across the 6G industry.

Guangdong plans to take early steps in laying out frontier basic technologies for 6G. Leveraging its strengths in telecommunications manufacturing, the province will focus on R&D for full-chain communication equipment, including 6G base stations, core networks, and bearer networks. With abundant industrial resources and diverse application scenarios, it intends to build a number of replicable and scalable 6G-integrated innovation demonstration projects in areas such as industrial manufacturing, embodied AI, and smart terminals, offering a Guangdong model for the rest of the country.

China Unicom Guangdong has already made deep inroads into 6G-related fields. The company continues to bolster 6G R&D in the Greater Bay Area through two major platforms, the Greater Bay Area Unicom Innovation Institute and the China Unicom 6G Laboratory Southern Base. It has previously accumulated technological expertise in 5G and 5G-Advanced, and has delivered application outcomes in smart manufacturing, low-altitude economy, smart ocean, urban governance, and other sectors, laying a solid foundation for the commercialization of 6G technologies.

At present, Guangdong's 6G industry as a whole is firmly positioned in the global first tier. On the industrial front, leading players such as Huawei, ZTE, OPPO, and vivo are deeply engaged in global 6G standard-setting, giving the province a prominent voice in the industry. On the ecosystem front, the province boasts a complete information industry chain and a vast array of application scenarios. Technologically, its strong AI industrial cluster provides all-round empowerment for 6G network upgrades and deployment. In addition, Guangdong has built the world's largest 5G/5G-A local network, serving as a premium testing ground for 6G technological iteration.

5G迈向6G，广东依然锁定全球第一梯队

2026年6月17日，广东省6G产业创新发展联盟成立大会暨广东省6G创新发展研讨会在广州举行。大会宣告广东省6G产业创新发展联盟正式成立，全方位推动6G产业协同创新、高质量发展。

广东将提前布局6G前沿基础技术，立足通信制造优势，攻坚6G基站、核心网、承载网全链条通信设备研发，并依托丰富的产业资源与多元应用场景，面向工业制造、具身智能、智能终端等领域，打造一批可复制、可推广的6G融合创新示范场景，为全国输出广东样板。

广东联通早已深度布局6G相关领域。依托联通粤港澳大湾区创新研究院、中国联通6G实验室南方基地两大高端平台，企业持续深耕大湾区6G创新研发，此前已完成5G、5G-A技术积淀，在智能制造、低空经济、智慧海洋、城市治理等多个领域落地应用成果，为6G技术商业化筑牢基础。

当前广东6G产业整体稳居全球第一梯队。产业层面，华为、中兴、OPPO、vivo等行业头部企业深度参与全球6G标准制定，行业话语权突出；生态层面，广东拥有完备信息产业链与海量应用场景；技术层面，本地AI产业集群优势显著，能全方位赋能6G网络升级与落地。同时，省内建成全球规模最大的5G/5G-A本地网络，为6G技术迭代提供优质试验场。
