The year 2026 marks the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges. From June 9th to 11th, the Guangdong-produced animated film "Into the Mortal World" was screened in Kenya as the opening film of events held under the initiative. During the same period, the film was also shortlisted for the "Golden Camellia" Honor Recommendations in the Outstanding Animated Film Screenwriter category at the 2026 Chongqing International Animation Film Week.
Since launching its global distribution in August 2024, "Into the Mortal World" has been released in more than 40 countries and regions worldwide. The film screenings and exhibitions in Kenya, which featured eight outstanding Chinese films, marked the film's first screening in Africa. As the opening film, it was screened at the opening ceremony, Century Cinemax Kenya, the Confucius Institute at Kenyatta University, and the University of Nairobi.
Patricia, a student at Kenyatta University, said the film's Eastern aesthetics sparked her strong interest in traditional Chinese culture. Another Kenyatta University student, Njoroge, who goes by the Chinese name "Li Bai," shared that although the film is rooted in complex Chinese mythological traditions, its themes of love, responsibility and family deeply moved him.
From June 30th to July 5th, "Into the Mortal World" will also be screened at the 2026 Guangdong Art Film Exhibition—the Thailand Film Screenings, using the power of cinema to build a bridge between cultures. Throughout 2026, the film will continue its overseas release in South Korea, Spain, Ecuador, Colombia and other Latin American markets.
粤产动画《落凡尘》首登非洲大银幕
2026年是“中非人文交流年”，6月9日至11日，《落凡尘》作为开幕影片参加2026中非人交流年系列活动，走进非洲肯尼亚展映。同期，影片在2026重庆国际动画电影周入围“金山茶”荣誉推荐优秀动画电影编剧。
自2024年8月启动全球发行以来，《落凡尘》已发行至全球40多个国家和地区。本次非洲肯尼亚展映活动共展映八部中国优秀影片。作为开幕影片，《落凡尘》先后在开幕式、肯尼亚世纪影城、肯雅塔大学孔子学院、内罗毕大学等地展映，这也是该片首度在非洲展映。
来自肯雅塔大学的学生帕特里夏说，影片中的东方美学激发了她对中国传统文化的浓厚兴趣。中文名叫“李白”的肯雅塔大学学生恩乔罗格则分享道，尽管影片背景源自复杂的中国神话传说，但它所表达的爱、责任与家的主题让他十分感动。
6月30日至7月5日，《落凡尘》还将在2026广东艺术影展·泰国电影展进行展映，以光影搭建文化桥梁。2026年内，《落凡尘》将继续在韩国、西班牙、厄瓜多尔、哥伦比亚及拉美地区发行上映。
