A series of dragon boat activities was held from June 12th to 14th in Haizhong Community, Zhongnan Subdistrict, Liwan District, Guangzhou, marking the launch of the first floral-themed Dragon Boat Carnival in Liwan. Centered around dragon boat culture, the event featured ceremonies, competitions, intangible cultural heritage performances and interactive experiences, showcasing the charm of Lingnan water town culture.
The opening ceremony was held in Haizhong Community on the morning of June 12th. Guests gathered at the event, which began with a lion dance welcome performance and a sign-in session. An ensemble performance of 'Smoke on the Water' took the lead, adding a modern touch to traditional dragon boat culture through a creative fusion of artistic elements.
Combining cultural heritage preservation with public participation, the series of activities offered residents and visitors an immersive experience of dragon boat culture. During the event, representatives from participating teams, including the Dragon Boat Team of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Compatriots Jinan University Alumni Association and the two teams from Haizhong, took the stage to pledge their commitment, demonstrating the enthusiasm and determination of dragon boat athletes.
On the same day, the "Hailong Chamber of Commerce Cup" Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament brought the event to its climax. Teams including the Haizhong Men's Dragon Boat Team, Haizhong Women's Team, the United Dragon Boat Team (comprising compatriots from Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), and the Greater Bay Area Dragon Boat Team of the Jinan University Guangzhou Alumni Association took turns to compete. The powerful 66-person traditional dragon boats and the fierce competition on the river allowed the audience to fully immerse themselves in the passion and charm of dragon boat racing.
广州荔湾首届水秀花香龙舟嘉年华启幕
端午时节，广州荔湾区中南街道海中社区龙舟系列活动在6月12日至14日举行，第一届水秀花香荔湾龙舟嘉年华由此启幕。活动以龙舟文化为纽带，集仪式、赛事、非遗展演和互动体验于一体，集中展现岭南水乡文化魅力。
6月12日上午，启动仪式在海中社区举行。现场嘉宾云集，在舞狮迎接与签到环节后，一曲《水上烟波起Smoke on the Water》合奏率先登场，用融合创新的艺术表达为传统龙舟文化增添了现代气息。
此次系列活动兼顾文化传承与群众参与，为市民游客带来了一场沉浸式的龙舟文化体验。活动期间，粤港澳台侨暨大校友会龙舟队、海中2支队等参赛队伍代表登台宣誓，展现出龙舟健儿的昂扬斗志。
6月12日当天，“海龙商会杯”龙舟邀请赛将活动推向最高潮。海中男子龙舟队、海中女子队、粤港澳台侨荔侨同心联合龙舟队、暨南大学广州校友会大湾区龙舟队等多支队伍依次登场，66人传统龙舟气势磅礴，河面上百舸争流，让现场观众沉浸式领略到龙舟运动的激情与魅力。
