On May 17th, the 2026 "Million Talents Gathering in Guangdong" Job Fair for Emerging and Future Industries was launched at Guangzhou University, putting Guangdong's industrial development plan into action by creating solid job opportunities for talent. The event brought together 330 leading technology companies, specialized and sophisticated enterprises, and research institutions, offering a total of 8,210 high-quality positions both online and offline. Over 9,000 job seekers attended the event, with over 2,000 reaching preliminary job agreements.

This recruitment event highlighted the evolving talent demands of emerging industries, with multi-skilled and AI-related talent becoming highly sought after. JATEN, a robotics company based in Guangdong, noted that as robotics companies accelerate their global expansion, AI application capabilities and English proficiency have become important assessment criteria this year, further increasing the value of cross-disciplinary talent. Xuanyuan Investment Management, a fintech-focused private equity firm with over 10 billion yuan in assets, is urgently seeking professionals with finance and IT expertise. The company offers high salaries to top AI engineers and quantitative IT professionals.

The job fair attracted many lower-year university students to explore opportunities beforehand. Two first-year students from Guangzhou University, majoring in Biological Sciences (Teacher Education), attended the event to learn about market trends. While their primary career goal is teaching, they also hope to gain early exposure to industry trends. According to the students, the university has already introduced basic AI courses for first-year students, and AI elements are integrated into their daily science and technology innovation projects.

To overcome geographical barriers, the event has launched a cloud recruitment channel running from May 17th to 31st. Job seekers can submit their resumes and participate in job fairs online via the Guangdong Public Employment and Recruitment Service Platform and the "Guangdong Employment Service" mini-program.

The event featured an innovative "one-person company (OPC)" zone and a matchmaking session for "New Quality Engine" application scenarios, showcasing the achievements of new quality productive forces in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Guangdong is planning to build 100 OPC ecosystem communities, and platforms such as the Tianhe Science and Innovation Hub in Guangzhou provide entrepreneurs with rent-free office space, expert guidance, and capital matching services.

In addition, two special sessions were held simultaneously: one on AI, and another on low-altitude economy and commercial aerospace. These sessions showcased a variety of intelligent devices covering a wide range of application scenarios, including smart cities, emergency mapping, logistics, and public security.

5月17日，“百万英才汇南粤”2026年新兴产业和未来产业专题招聘活动在广州大学启动，将广东产业发展规划转化为实打实的人才就业机遇。本次活动集结330家科技领军企业、专精特新企业及科研院所，线上线下共释放8210个优质岗位，当日超9000名求职者进场求职，超2000人次初步达成就业意向。

本次招聘凸显新兴产业人才需求特点，复合型、AI相关人才成为企业争抢重点。广东嘉腾机器人表示，随着机器人企业加速出海，AI应用、英语能力成为今年招聘重要考核方向，复合型人才价值持续提升。百亿级私募玄元资管深耕金融科技领域，急需“金融+IT”跨界人才，针对顶尖AI工程师、量化IT人才，企业将提供高薪待遇。

招聘会吸引不少高校低年级学生提前探岗。广州大学两名生物科学（师范）专业大一学生到场了解市场行情，他们以教师为主要职业目标，同时希望提前熟悉产业趋势。据学生介绍，学校大一已开设人工智能基础课程，AI元素已融入日常科创项目。

为打破地域限制，5月17日至31日，活动同步开通云招聘通道，求职者可通过广东公共求职招聘服务平台、“粤就业”小程序线上投递简历、参与双选。

活动创新设置“一人公司（OPC）”专区与“新质引擎”应用场景对接会，集中展示大湾区新质生产力成果。广东正布局建设百个OPC生态社区，广州天河科创HUB等平台为创业者提供全免场地费用、专家辅导、资本对接等扶持。

此外，人工智能、低空经济与商业航天两大专场同步开展，现场展示多款智能设备，广泛覆盖智慧城市、应急测绘、物流、公共安全等应用场景。
