On the first day of the 2026 May Day holiday, May 1st, Guangdong's 4A-level and above tourist attractions received about 3.42 million visitor trips, up 7.7% year on year.

During the holiday, public cultural venues at all levels across Guangdong are opening on staggered and extended schedules, developing branded nighttime services and presenting nearly 500 exhibitions.

Guangdong is also bringing intangible cultural heritage into scenic areas, urban neighborhoods and villages. In May, the province is expected to host more than 800 events, including the "Four Seasons Village Gala,""Guangdong Village Songs" and "Bringing Opera to the Countryside."

On April 30th, the launch ceremony of the Cantonese Classic Songs Contest, along with a supporting concert, was held at Canton Tower West Square. Professional stage productions such as "Sunrise," "Thunderstorm" and "Dongguan East" will also be staged in Guangzhou, Dongguan and other cities.

During the May Day holiday, 396 commercial performances will be held across Guangdong, including 19 large-scale commercial performances each drawing more than 5,000 attendees. Among them, a four-day run of concerts by Teens in Times in Guangzhou's Nansha District is expected to attract nearly 200,000 concertgoers.

“五一”假期首日广东全省4A级及以上景区接待游客341.6万人次

2026年“五一”假期第一天（5月1日），广东全省4A级及以上景区接待游客341.6万人次，同比增长7.7%。

节日期间，广东全省各级公共文化场馆实施错时、延时开放，打造夜间服务品牌，将推出各类展览近500个。

广东推动非遗进景区、进街区、进乡村，5月预计举办超800场“四季村晚”“广东村歌”“戏曲进乡村”等活动。

4月30日，广州塔西广场举办粤语经典歌曲大赛启动仪式及配套演唱会。广州、东莞等地将上演《日出》《雷雨》《东莞东》等专业演出剧目。

“五一”假期，各地举办营业性演出达396场，其中5000人以上的大型营业性演出19场。其中，在广州南沙举办的为期4天的时代少年团演唱会，预计吸引观众近20万人。
