On the first day of the May Day holiday, Shawan Ancient Town in Guangzhou launched a five-day cultural tourism feast. As of 5:00 PM on May 1st, the scenic area had received more than 26,800 visits on the opening day of the holiday.

On May 1st, Shawan Ancient Town officially released five food-hunting routes, covering everything from traditional intangible cultural heritage snacks to authentic street flavors. Visitors can follow a one-stop food guide to sample the tastes of Shawan. "You can try ginger milk curd here and also learn about buffalo milk processing techniques. It's fun to eat and learn at the same time, which really suits young people," said Xiao Lin, a visitor born after 2000.

At Liugeng Hall in the ancient town, from May 1st to May 3rd between 3:00PM and 3:30 PM, the Guo Da Li(betrothal) ceremony vividly showcases the Cantonese wedding customs, an item of intangible cultural heritage(ICH). It recreates traditional rites such as the proposaland the presentation of betrothal gifts, while also explaining the auspicious meanings associated with food in wedding traditions, such as the exquisitely craftedDragon and Phoenix Cakes symbolizing a harmonious marriage and coconuts representing three generations under one roof. Meanwhile, hands-onexperiences in making ICH food at Liugeng Hall and Sanren Hall allow visitors to learn how to make the traditional snacks of Shawan buffalo milk like ginger milk curd, as well as fish wrapper dumplings, a representative dish made from Cantonese mud carp.

From May 1st to May 5th, between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM each day, the West Square of the ancient town turns into a lively marketplace. Traditional food stalls fill the air with enticing aromas, while artisans demonstrate crafts such as sugar painting and straw weaving on site. Traditional games like pitch-pot and hoop rolling attract families with children, who line up to take part.

广州沙湾古镇：美食非遗引客来｜请到广东过五一

“五一”假期首日，广州沙湾古镇启动为期五天的文旅盛宴。截至5月1日17时，沙湾古镇假期首日景区共接待游客超26800人次。

1日当天，沙湾古镇正式发布五条“搵食”路线，从传统非遗小吃到地道街头风味，游客可循着一站式美食打卡指南，尝遍沙湾滋味。“这里既能吃姜埋奶，又能了解水牛奶制作技艺，边吃边学，特别适合年轻人。”“00后”游客小林说。

在古镇内的留耕堂，5月1日至3日15：00—15：30，“广府婚俗过大礼”活动生动展示非遗“广府婚礼习俗”，不仅还原纳采、送聘等传统礼仪，更解读婚俗中与“吃”相关的吉祥寓意——如龙凤礼饼象征百年好合、椰子代表有爷有子等。同时，留耕堂与三稔厅开设的非遗美食制作体验，游客可学习动手制作沙湾水牛奶小食制作技艺代表美食——姜埋奶，以及广式土鲮鱼制作技艺代表美食——鱼皮角。

1日至5日每日9时至21时，古镇西广场变身热闹市集。传统美食摊位前香气四溢，手工艺人现场展示糖画、草编等技艺，投壶、滚铁环等传统游戏吸引亲子家庭排队参与。
