3月7日（农历正月十九）晚，汕头市澄海区溪南镇南砂乡灯火璀璨、盛况空前，传承三百余年的南砂营灯民俗活动热闹上演。南砂营灯是一项拥有三百多年历史的潮汕传统民俗，最初是乡民们为守护家园、抵御海盗侵扰，以点灯巡乡的方式戒备防卫，后来逐渐演变成为祈求五谷丰登、合众平安的传统仪式。
