During China's 2026 "two sessions," Lisa, a Russian living in Guangdong, was invited by the Yangcheng Evening News' "iSeeChina" column to visit Midea Group. Starting with a cup of cold brew coffee ready in no time, she set out to discover what gives Guangdong manufacturing its staying power.

Upon entering the Midea small home appliances showroom in Shunde, Lisa was greeted by Zhong Zheng, an NPC deputy and Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director of Midea Group. "Let's chat over a coffee!" Zhong said. She pressed a button on a coffee machine, and then a cup of fragrant cold brew coffee was ready in just one minute. Lisa exclaimed in amazement—after all, a conventional cold-brew process takes 12 to 24 hours.

"It tastes just like the coffee you'd get in a European cafe!" While marveling at the coffee's flavor, Lisa tried out the coffee machine herself. With 10 drink options available, it can make cafe-style coffee at the touch of a button.

Right next to the coffee machine, a high-end health kettle was simmering herbal tea. "This kettle can precisely adjust the temperaturefor different ingredients, using 3D Touch temperature sensing technology to support smarter, health-conscious lifestyles," Zhong explained.

Zhong noted that Midea's home appliances have been exported to more than 200 countries and regions. In the next three years, Midea will invest 60 billion yuan in cutting-edge fields such as AI large models, new energy, and robotics to enhance the added value of "Guangdong goods" in the new era.

走进顺德美的小家电展厅，全国人大代表、美的集团股份有限公司副总裁、首席财务官钟铮迎上前来，“喝杯咖啡再聊吧！”她轻触一台咖啡机按钮，1分钟后，一杯香醇的冷萃咖啡就制作好了。丽莎大呼神奇，要知道，所谓“冷萃”，普通工序需要等12-24小时！

“和欧洲咖啡馆里的好像！”感慨咖啡滋味之余，丽莎上手体验咖啡机操作，10种品类可选，一键复刻咖啡馆同款。

就在咖啡机旁边，高端养生壶中正炖煮着花茶。“这款养生壶还能精准‘拿捏’不同食材的加热温度，用3D touch感温技术来适配现代人智能养生的需求。”钟铮如数家珍。

钟铮介绍，美的家电产品已远销海外200多个国家和地区。未来三年美的还将投入600亿元布局AI大模型、新能源、机器人等前沿领域，提升新时代“广货”附加值。
