Recently, WeRide and global mobility platform Uber have announced a major expansion of their strategic partnership, planning to deploy at least 1,200 Robotaxis in three core Middle Eastern markets of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Riyadh by 2027. All the vehicles will be integrated into the Uber app to provide commercial mobility services to the public.

At present, the two parties have already launched fully driverless commercial operations in Abu Dhabi and rolled out public operation services in Dubai and Riyadh, with over 200 Robotaxis deployed across the Middle East. Building on a mature operational foundation, the fleet will be scaled up progressively, and Uber has also pledged to further increase investment once regulatory approvals and the launch of fully driverless commercial operations covering the core areas of each city are achieved.

This partnership represents the largest Robotaxi commercial deployment plan in the MENA region to date, and also marks the acceleration of their expansion into 15 additional cities globally over the next five years. At present, WeRide and Uber operate Robotaxis in three of these 15 cities, with another 12 cities to come by 2030. The project follows WeRide's asset-light operating model: WeRide will provide the autonomous driving technology and large-scale deployment capabilities, while Uber or local partners will be responsible for fleet operations.

Tony Xu Han, Founder and CEO of WeRide, stated that the cooperation will drive the company to accelerate the achievement of its global goal of deploying tens of thousands of Robotaxis. Sarfraz Maredia, global Head of Autonomous Mobility & Delivery at Uber, noted that this partnership is a key milestone for the company's autonomous mobility footprint across the Middle East.

Currently, WeRide's fully driverless Robotaxis in Abu Dhabi are maintaining stable average daily orders per vehicle. As the fleet expands to over 1,000 vehicles, this will further consolidate WeRide's leading position in the Middle East market and help drive the region's transition to autonomous urban mobility. Notably, WeRide's Middle East subsidiary achieved operational profitability in its Robotaxi business in 2025.

文远知行携手Uber 2027年在中东部署千辆Robotaxi

近日，文远知行与全球出行平台优步（Uber）宣布升级战略合作，计划于2027年前在中东阿布扎比、迪拜、利雅得三大核心市场，部署至少1200辆自动驾驶出租车（Robotaxi），全部接入Uber App面向公众提供商业化出行服务。

目前，双方已在阿布扎比实现纯无人商业化运营，并在迪拜、利雅得开放公开运营服务，中东地区已部署超200辆Robotaxi。基于成熟运营基础，双方将持续扩大车队规模，Uber也承诺在监管获批及核心区纯无人商业化落地后，进一步加码投入。

此次合作是中东及北非地区迄今规模最大的Robotaxi商业化部署计划，也标志着双方“五年内新增15座国际城市”的布局进入加速期。目前已落地3城，剩余12座城市将于2030年前完成覆盖。项目延续文远知行轻资产模式，由Uber及当地伙伴负责运营，文远知行提供自动驾驶技术与规模化落地能力。

文远知行创始人兼CEO韩旭表示，合作将推动公司加速实现全球数万台Robotaxi落地目标。优步全球自动驾驶负责人Sarfraz Maredia称，此次合作是公司在中东自动驾驶布局的里程碑。

当前，文远知行在阿布扎比的纯无人Robotaxi单车日均订单稳定，随车队扩至千辆级，将进一步巩固其在中东市场的领先地位，助力区域向自动化出行转型。值得关注的是，文远知行中东子公司Robotaxi业务已于2025年实现经营性盈利。
