On February 2nd, the First APEC Senior Officials' Meeting and Related Meetings continued to be held in Guangzhou. During the event, Zheng Yongnian, Dean of the School of Public Policy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Chairman of the Guangzhou Institute of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA), remarked that "Guangdong Goods Global Reach" is not merely a continuation of history but also the start of a new trend. He said, "China is currently in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and new technologies such as artificial intelligence will empower manufacturing. The era of 'Made-in-China' and 'Made in Guangdong' goods is returning."

Zheng highly praised APEC's role and expressed his expectation that the APEC "China Year" can bring more positive energy to regional economic and trade cooperation. He stated, "This year, through broad, phased discussions in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Dalian,and other places, each economy will gradually reach consensus based on its own circumstances, ultimately converging at the Informal Leaders' Meeting in Shenzhen. This mechanism maintains high vitality and openness at the micro level, acting as an important buffer against the current macro-level 'de-globalization' trend."

Speaking on the future of the GBA, Zheng showed strong confidence, believing that it would evolve into "a world-class bay area of higher quality and at a higher level". He proposed a new "troika" to power the GBA's development. As he put it,"Within the GBA, there are numerous high-quality research institutes and universities, many manufacturing enterprises with robust technology commercialization capabilities, and world-class financial services of Hong Kong, China. These are the key elements for achieving high-quality development in the GBA. This complementary, coordinated pattern, including the organic integration of the three major central cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, is a core competitiveness that other regions find hard to replicate."

Recently, Guangdong Province launched its "Guangdong Goods Global Reach" Spring Edition. The initiative aims to substantially enhance the visibility and market influence of high-quality industrial products through government coordination, platform support, and enterprise participation, and to spur breakthroughs in online sales of products across the province. Zheng also praised Guangdong goods as an outstanding representative of Chinese products. He said, "As early as the Song Dynasty, China had already become the world's largest trading economy. Guangzhou, in particular, was a major hub for porcelain exports. I believe we are now opening another era, and in the future, there will be more and more products from China and from Guangdong around the world."

产业革命赋能传统制造 属于广货的时代又要来了

2月2日，APEC第一次高官会及相关会议继续在广州举行。会议期间，香港中文大学（深圳）公共政策学院院长、广州粤港澳大湾区研究院理事长郑永年感叹，“广货行天下”不仅是历史的延续，更是新潮流的开启。他说：“我们国家正处于第四次产业革命，人工智能等新技术将赋能制造业，属于中国制造，属于‘广货’的时代又要来了。”

郑永年高度评价了APEC的作用，也期待APEC“中国年”能给地区经贸合作带来更多“正能量”。他说：“今年我们将通过在广州、上海、大连等多地的分阶段的广泛讨论，各经济体针对自身情况逐步形成共识，并最终汇聚到深圳的领导人非正式会议中。这种机制在微观层面保持了高度的活力与开放性，是应对当前宏观层面‘逆全球化’倾向的重要缓冲。”

谈及粤港澳大湾区的未来，郑永年表示了极强的信心。他认为，大湾区的未来将成为“更高质量、更高层次的世界一流湾区”。他提出了拉动大湾区发展的新“三驾马车”构想。“大湾区内有众多高质量的科研机构与大学，有众多具有强大技术转化能力的制造企业，以及香港的世界级金融服务。这些正是大湾区实现高质量发展的关键要素，这种优势互补、协同联动的格局，包括广州、深圳、香港三大中心城市的有机结合，是其他区域难以复制的核心竞争力。”郑永年说。

近日，广东省启动了“广货行天下”春季行动，旨在通过政府搭台、平台支持、企业参与，切实提升广东优质工业产品的曝光度和市场影响力，推动全省产品线上销售实现新突破。郑永年也为“广货”点赞，称广货是“中国产品”的杰出代表。郑永年说：“在宋朝，中国已经是世界上最大的商贸国家。尤其是广州，好多的瓷器都是从广州出口。我想，现在又开启了另外一个时代，今后会有越来越多的产品来自中国，来自广东。”
